Head-to-Head, Prediction for Swiss Indoors 2025

Fifth-seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime will face Spain’s Jaume Munar for a place in the semifinals of the 2025 Swiss Indoors on Friday, Oct. 24.

The Canadian been on an upswing with regards to his results lately, and he’ll aim to carry over his momentum into Friday’s clash.

Felix Auger-Aliassime, Jaume Munar Trending in Different Directions

Auger-Aliassime most recently reached the semifinals of the US Open in September and secured his third ATP singles title of the year at the Brussels Open last week.

Having won the 500-level title in Basel in 2022-23, the former World No. 6 Auger-Aliassime will be looking to improve to a 14-1 win/loss record when he takes on Munar. The 25-year-old has yet to drop a set this week so far, having gotten the better of his countryman Gabriel Diallo 6-2, 7-5 in the first round before beating 2016 champion Marin Cilic 7-6(2), 7-6(2) earlier on Thursday, Oct. 23, to book his quarterfinal spot at the indoor hardcourt tournament.

The fifth seed’s Spanish opponent, meanwhile, hasn’t nearly enjoyed the same level of success in 2025 with a 29-23 year-to-date win/loss record to boot. However, the 28-year-old did enjoy some impressive results during the North American hard-court season, reaching the quarterfinals in Winston-Salem and the Round of 16 in New York. Like Auger-Aliassime, Munar has also not dropped a single set at this week’s Swiss Indoors.

In his main-draw debut in Basel, the World No. 42 began his campaign by beating local favorite Remy Bertola 6-2, 6-4. He then sprang an upset win over World No. 6 Ben Shelton for the third time in their rivalry, winning 6-3, 6-4 to record his fourth quarterfinal appearance in 2025.

Auger-Aliassime vs. Munar Head-to-Head

Auger-Aliassime leads Munar 1-0 in their head-to-head meetings on the ATP Tour. The Canadian defeated the Spaniard 6-4, 6-3 in their lone tour-level encounter en route to his maiden singles final at the 2019 Rio Open. While the latter has gotten the better of his younger opponent in the 2018 French Open qualifying and the 2018 Barletta Challenger, these tournaments are not considered in official ATP Tour records and therefore have no influence on their head-to-head.

Auger-Aliassime vs. Munar Prediction

Felix Auger-Aliassime has put together a scintillating performance on serve in Basel, which employs fast hardcourts well-suited to his game. During his second-round victory against Cilic, the World No. 12 won a whopping 96% (48/50) of his first-serve points. He will be eager to win his next match at the ATP 500 tournament, as it will bode well for his chances of qualifying for the year-end championships in Turin.

Munar has neither Auger-Aliassime’s accuracy on serve nor his easy firepower off the baseline. However, the unseeded Spaniard does possess quick reflexes on his return, which helped him win 39% (19/49) of his first-return points against Shelton and break the second seed twice during their Round-of-16 bout. In that regard, the fifth seed will have to be spotless in his service games if he wants to ensure a smooth sailing against his tricky opponent.

Although the 28-year-old has improved his hardcourt game leaps and bounds in 2025, his groundstrokes still lack weight, especially when compared to his younger opponent’s quick-strike playing style. This match is likely to be a tight affair, but it won’t be a challenge that Auger-Aliassime can’t douse considering how in-form he has been lately.

Prediction: Felix Auger-Aliassime to win in straight sets.
