Taylor Fritz’s Girlfriend Morgan Riddle Reveals Reason Behind ‘Giving Up’ on Making Tennis Content

Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend and social media influencer, Morgan Riddle, spoke out against the gatekeeping of content in pro tennis earlier on Thursday, Oct.23.

Riddle, who has over 475,000 followers on Instagram, gained popularity in the early 2020s after she began documenting her life travelling on the ATP Tour with her boyfriend, Fritz. Over the last few years, the 28-year-old has even worked with big tournaments like Wimbledon.

Taylor Fritz’s Influencer Girlfriend Morgan Riddle Complains About Her Content Being “Taken Down By Tournaments”

On Thursday, Riddle responded to an Instagram reel posted by fellow influencer Eliza Wastcoat, in which the latter complained about not being allowed to create content on-site for tennis fans.

She also drew a comparison with the more successful NBA to prove her point, arguing that the official social media handles of tennis tournaments shouldn’t make copyright infringement claims on content shot by influencers.

“Unless I go as a fan and buy my own ticket, I cannot show tennis to my audience. Which is crazy, because fans can post whatever they want. Meanwhile, sports like the NBA are thriving. Because they’ve loosened up their social media rules, they stopped policing content, started embracing creators, even creating a creator program. And boom, the sport exploded online. Tenfold growth, global fandom, franchise value up. Meanwhile, tennis is still gatekeeping itself into irrelevance. Players with millions of followers cannot even post their own match highlights of the tournaments they won,” Wastcoat narrated in her latest Instagram reel.

Wastcoat’s rant elicited a pointed response from Riddle in the replies. The American claimed that she had also been “scolded” by tournaments in the past for sharing tennis content. By her admission, the ordeal had been so discouraging that she has since avoided vlogging about her experience watching pro tennis events live.

“Literally I can’t film anything anymore without getting scolded by a tournament or getting my content taken down for copyright so i just gave up on it awesome job tennis!!! ” Riddle wrote in the comments to Wastcoat’s Instagram reel.

Fritz and Riddle first started dating after meeting on the dating app Raya during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The American influencer was a central figure along with her former World No. 4 boyfriend on Netflix’s Break Point series. Earlier this year, she admitted that the tennis community used to heavily disapprove of her tennis content, as they expected her to act like a typical WAG.

Riddle Gets Real About Facing ‘Misogyny’ From Fans

In March, Riddle made an appearance on “The Squeeze” podcast, where she revealed getting “a lot of backlash” from tennis fans for documenting her experience at tournaments.

“I definitely got a lot of backlash, both from within the tennis community and the fans. ‘I’m calling attention to myself,’ people just expected me to, like, sit in the box, be relatively private. Like, not capitalize on my partner’s career. Came in guns blazing, I was like, ‘F*** that!’ People make up insane things. It’s just the same misogynist, regurgitated b******t again and again,” Morgan Riddle disclosed in March 2025.

Fritz, meanwhile, has enjoyed yet another good season on the ATP Tour in 2025, winning two singles titles and compiling an impressive 51-20 win/loss record thus far. While the World No. 4 suffered an early exit from the Swiss Indoors earlier this week, he will be eager to end his year with good showings at the Paris Masters and the year-end championships in Turin, respectively.
