Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season is in the books. There are no more winless teams, the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos both extended to five-game winning streaks, and the Indianapolis Colts continue to look like the best team in football. There’s plenty to look back on from this past week, especially at the quarterback position.
PFSN has you covered with your QB rankings for the 2025 season, as our QBi metric puts a numerical value on how each one performs every week. Note that these rankings only include the eight games played this year, not any previous games from other seasons, or factoring into each player’s reputation. With Week 8 in the rearview mirror, let’s rank the top 37 quarterbacks in the NFL after another week of play.

37) Jake Browning, Cincinnati Bengals
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 49.2 (F)
Last Week’s Ranking: 37
With the Cincinnati Bengals’ acquisition of Joe Flacco heading into Week 6, Jake Browning has since transitioned back into a backup role. Judging by how poorly he performed in relief of Joe Burrow, that’s probably for the best.
36) Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 52.4 (F)
Last Week’s Ranking: 36
The Tennessee Titans continued their losing ways on Sunday, falling to 1-7 with their 38-14 loss to the Colts. It’s not fair to blame Cam Ward entirely for the loss, as he threw for 259 yards and a touchdown. However, he also threw a pick in the matchup, and he only completed 57.9% of his passing attempts.
Ward has the lowest third-down conversion rate of the 37 QBs eligible for this list, and his -0.23 EPA per dropback remains the lowest of any current starter. In the eight starts he has had this season, he’s been brought down for sacks an average of 4.25 times per game.
35) Dillon Gabriel, Cleveland Browns
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 52.4 (F)
Last Week’s Ranking: 34
Dillon Gabriel experienced his fair share of ups and downs in the Cleveland Browns’ loss to the Patriots on Sunday. He threw for two touchdowns, marking the second game of his NFL career with multiple scores through the air. But he also threw two interceptions, ended with just 156 passing yards, and averaged just 4.5 yards per attempt.
Albeit off a smaller sample size, Gabriel has the 34th-best EPA per dropback among the 37 qualified quarterbacks on this list. His 4.5 net yards per attempt ranks dead last among those players.
34) Tyrod Taylor, New York Jets
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 56.1 (F)
Last Week’s Ranking: 35
After some controversy in Week 7 about their starting quarterback situation, the New York Jets settled on keeping Justin Fields over Tyrod Taylor in their starting lineup for Week 8, largely due to injury. It paid off, as the team picked up its first win of the 2025 NFL season.
33) Russell Wilson, New York Giants
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 62.3 (D-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 33
Russell Wilson sat behind rookie Jaxson Dart for the New York Giants’ Week 8 matchup, and head coach Brian Daboll says that will remain the case for the rest of the season.
32) Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 64.2 (D)
Last Week’s Ranking: 30
Due to an ankle injury he suffered the week prior, Bryce Young did not play in the Carolina Panthers’ loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 8. Andy Dalton started in his absence.
31) Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 64.6 (D)
Last Week’s Ranking: 29
There’s no movement in Trevor Lawrence’s grade, as the Jacksonville Jaguars were on bye in Week 8. Though the team has bounced back well from a down year in 2024, Lawrence hasn’t quite followed suit. This year in particular, he’s struggled to live up to the significant hype he had as a draft prospect coming out of Clemson.
30) Joe Flacco, Cincinnati Bengals
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 65.3 (D)
Last Week’s Ranking: 31
There were plenty of reasons the Cincinnati Bengals lost to the Jets in Week 8. Joe Flacco’s performance wasn’t one of those. He ended his day on Sunday with 223 yards, three total touchdowns, and a 100.5 passer rating.
Generally speaking, Flacco ranks this low on the list because of his early-season performance in Cleveland. He’s been a lot more effective since he got traded to the Bengals. He could end up climbing a few more spots before Burrow comes back into the starting lineup.
29) Spencer Rattler, New Orleans Saints
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 66.6 (D)
Last Week’s Ranking: 28
After throwing three interceptions against the Chicago Bears in Week 7, Spencer Rattler put together another poor outing, this time in the New Orleans Saints’ loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. He gave up a fumble and threw an interception in the loss.
Though Rattler may have surpassed expectations as the Saints’ starter this year, that speaks more about his low bar than his strong play. It appears New Orleans wants to go in a different direction, having since benched him in favor of rookie Tyler Shough.
28) Justin Fields, New York Jets
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 69.7 (D+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 32
It’s been a tough season for both Fields and New York. That must’ve made its win over the Bengals that much sweeter on Sunday. Fields ended the game with 244 passing yards, a touchdown, and a 99.0 passer rating, giving him one of his better outings of the year.
Fields has the highest designed rush grade factoring into his QBi of any quarterback in the NFL so far. That said, he’s only 31st in net yards per attempt, has just five passing touchdowns in seven games, and has a negative EPA average on a per-snap basis.
27) Geno Smith, Las Vegas Raiders
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 69.8 (D+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 27
Geno Smith moves up a spot only due to slight movement around him at the quarterback position, as the Las Vegas Raiders had their bye week in Week 8. Time will tell if the week of rest will be enough for the veteran to reset and cut down on his turnover-prone ways for the remainder of the season.
26) Marcus Mariota, Washington Commanders
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 69.8 (D+)
Last Week’s Ranking: N/R
Marcus Mariota was in the QBi rankings earlier in the year, with Jayden Daniels absent from his first injury, but he fell out after no longer meeting the eligibility requirements. With Daniels missing Week 8, Mariota is back in the mix, though it’s not in a particularly high spot.
2025 NFL MVP Race: Baker Mayfield, Dak Prescott Make Their Cases for Most Prestigious Award
He threw for a touchdown and 213 yards, but Mariota also tossed two interceptions and fumbled the ball once in the Washington Commanders’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. So far this season, he’s dead even with four passing touchdowns and four interceptions.
25) Michael Penix Jr., Atlanta Falcons
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 70.2 (C-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 26
Due to a knee injury, Michael Penix Jr. didn’t play in the Atlanta Falcons’ loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Kirk Cousins started in his place.
24) Carson Wentz, Minnesota Vikings
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 72.3 (C-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 18
Carson Wentz didn’t exactly light the world on fire with his performance against the Los Angeles Chargers, especially considering his Minnesota Vikings lost 37-10 on Thursday night. But he deserves a lot of credit for battling through shoulder pain in the game, as the injury ended up being a season-ending one.
In the five games he played, Wentz finished the season with 1,216 passing yards, six passing touchdowns, five interceptions, a 65.1% completion percentage, and an 85.8 passer rating.
23) Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 74.3 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 23
Having missed a few games due to a knee injury, Daniels suffered a hamstring injury soon after his return to the field. Mariota replaced him as Washington’s starter on Monday night.
22) Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 74.3 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 9
Admittedly, Baker Mayfield’s drop in these rankings comes more from his Week 7 outing, where he finished with only a 66.0 passer rating in a loss to the Lions. He did slightly better in the Buccaneers’ win over the Saints in Week 8, but his 80.6 passer rating was his second-worst score of the 2025 NFL season.
Buccaneers WR Depth Chart: Which Receivers Are Left for Tampa Bay After Emeka Egbuka, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin Injuries?
Mayfield is still sitting extremely pretty with 13 passing touchdowns to just two interceptions this season. A lack of his offense’s trademark explosive plays has hurt his grade in recent weeks, but the heavy injuries around him on Tampa Bay’s offense also play a role in that decline.
21) C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 74.5 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 25
There’s been plenty of inconsistency this season for C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans. However, they conquered the San Francisco 49ers in a 26-15 showdown. Stroud threw for 318 yards, two touchdowns, an interception, and a 106.6 passer rating.
Of the 24 quarterbacks eligible for this list with a positive EPA per dropback average, Stroud ranks the lowest in QBi grading at 28th. Part of that comes down to his extreme ups and downs this year, including his Week 7 matchup with a 46.9, which factors into his fall here. Still, his Week 8 outing was a step in the right direction.
20) Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 74.7 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 19
Some inconsistency plagued Caleb Williams in the Chicago Bears’ loss to the Tyler Huntley-led Ravens on Sunday. He had his moments and was hardly the main reason they lost, but he didn’t elevate the team to overcome his hobbled defense’s poor performance.
Among certain key analytical categories, Williams ranks 21st in EPA per dropback, 17th in third-down conversion rate, 11th in net yards per attempt, and 21st in average EPA under pressure. It’s been a decent season for the 2024 draft’s No. 1 pick, and while it hasn’t necessarily been spectacular, there’s certainly been growth from his rookie campaign.
19) Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 75.0 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 24
The Dolphins picked up their second win of the season on Sunday, and Tua Tagovailoa played a major role in that victory. He threw for four touchdowns with 205 yards and no interceptions in Miami’s 34-10 blowout over the Falcons.
As of this writing, Tagovailoa is the highest-ranked quarterback on this list with a negative EPA per dropback average. That said, more games like his stellar outing against Atlanta should help propel him up these rankings.
18) Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 75.2 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 23
Kyler Murray has missed the last few weeks due to a foot injury, and Jacoby Brissett started in his place. The Arizona Cardinals had their bye week in Week 8, so Murray should be able to take the starting job back with an extra week of rest.
17) Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 75.3 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 15
Aaron Rodgers was unable to defeat his Green Bay successor, Jordan Love, in their matchup on Sunday night, but the Pittsburgh Steelers didn’t lose because of the former MVP. He ended the night with 219 passing yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions, and a 101.5 passer rating.
Even in the late stages of his career, Rodgers has remained consistent in the clutch. His 0.89 clutch sum ranks sixth in the NFL, surpassing current notable stars like Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, and Lamar Jackson. As one could expect by his lack of explosiveness at his stage, though, he ranks just 27th in EPA per dropback under pressure.
16) Jaxson Dart, New York Giants
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 77.1 (C+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 21
Losing his starting running back in Cam Skattebo surely didn’t feel good for Jaxson Dart on Sunday, nor did the New York Giants’ 38-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Nevertheless, the rookie out of Ole Miss showed some encouraging play amidst all the bad news.
From an EPA efficiency perspective, he ranges from average to above-average in most categories. His inefficiency at the end of the first half drives his QBi down a bit, but that doesn’t mean he’s necessarily bad in the clutch; he also has the fourth-best third-down conversion rate in the NFL.
15) Mac Jones, San Francisco 49ers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 77.6 (C+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 17
The 49ers know they have a solid backup quarterback in Mac Jones. He’s luckily been able to keep his team afloat in Brock Purdy’s absence, but he isn’t necessarily that guy when they need a QB to elevate them. That showed on Sunday in San Francisco’s 26-15 loss to the Texans.
2025 NFL Playoff Picture and Bracket: Patriots Remain Red Hot, While Ravens Lose Again
Having averaged over 300 passing yards through his first four starts this year, Jones is coming off two consecutive games under 200 passing yards. He ranks in the middle of the pack in most analytical categories, but improved play under pressure would play a big part in getting him back into the top ten in QBi grading.
14) Bo Nix, Denver Broncos
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 79.0 (C+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 20
With the Denver Broncos sitting pretty at 6-2, things are looking good for the franchise. The hope is they can get some more performances out of Bo Nix like what they got on Sunday, when he threw for four touchdowns and one interception in their blowout victory over the Cowboys.
Nix generally grades out as an average quarterback in practically every analytical category PFSN has, backing up the narrative that he’s an effective game manager if things are going well around him. He’s had some ups and downs this season, but he’s coming off two particularly strong outings in a row.
13) Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 81.6 (B-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 8
The Detroit Lions had their bye week in Week 8, so Jared Goff only falls due to a combination of a down performance in Week 7 and slight momentum around him at the quarterback position. He’s generally been a valuable asset for their offense, as he has been for much of his tenure in Detroit.
12) Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 82.2 (B-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 11
With the Los Angeles Rams having a bye week in Week 8, Matthew Stafford’s QBi grade does not change. He ranks third in the NFL in passing yards per game, and he’s played a pivotal role in the Rams’ solidification as one of the best offenses in the league.
11) Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 82.6 (B-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 7
Slight movement around him is the only thing knocking Sam Darnold down two spots, as the Seattle Seahawks had their bye week in Week 8. Though Jaxon Smith-Njigba gets a lot of praise for his role in Seattle’s explosive offense, the guy throwing him the football absolutely should not be overlooked.
10) Jacoby Brissett, Arizona Cardinals
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 82.8 (B-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 12
With Murray’s injury-related absence, Brissett has now put up a large enough sample size to qualify for our QBi grading. He couldn’t add to his statistics due to the Cardinals having their bye week, though.
9) Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 83.3 (B)
Last Week’s Ranking: 16
Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers have both faced inconsistency throughout this season. That stabilized a bit in Week 8, when they came away with the 37-10 win on Thursday night over the Vikings, improving themselves to a 5-3 record in the process.
Herbert has thrown seven interceptions in his last six games, which contributes to his average QBi grade at this stage. That said, as of this writing, he leads the league in passing yards and ranks tied for second in passing touchdowns.
8) Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 83.7 (B)
Last Week’s Ranking: 14
Sunday was a dream outcome for the Eagles’ offense: a dominant run game headlined by Saquon Barkley, with an ultra-efficient passing attack led by Jalen Hurts. That happened in their win over the Giants, as Hurts only threw the ball 20 times for 15 completions and 179 yards, but he threw four touchdowns with no interceptions.
As one could expect, given the success of the Tush Push, Hurts is one of the most efficient quarterbacks at running the football in the NFL. He generally ranks pretty average in most analytical categories, though his 20 total touchdowns to just one interception help him out.
7) Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 84.7 (B)
Last Week’s Ranking: 11
After a middling start to the year, Patrick Mahomes has been a consistent riser up these rankings over the last few weeks. That continues coming out of Week 8, as he and the Chiefs beat the Commanders 28-7 on Monday night. Mahomes ended the game with two interceptions, but he also threw for three touchdowns with 299 passing yards, adding 40 rushing yards in the process.
Mahomes has solidified himself in above-average territory in a majority of PFSN’s analytical categories. Most notably, he’s the fifth-most efficient quarterback under pressure in the league, and his combined third- and fourth-down conversion rate ranks sixth.
6) Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 86.2 (B)
Last Week’s Ranking: 7
A dominant run game played the biggest role in the Bills’ blowout win over the Panthers on Sunday, but Josh Allen played his part in the victory. He only threw the ball 19 times, but he completed 12 of his passes with 163 yards and a touchdown.
Among other analytical categories this year, Allen ranks in at least the top 10 in EPA per dropback, third-down conversion rate, close game EPA per dropback, and passer rating. The reigning MVP has been strong for the Bills this season.
5) Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 86.7 (B)
Last Week’s Ranking: 5
As has been the case for much of 2025, the Cowboys’ offense played well in Week 8, but their defense buried them in a hole too deep to overcome. Dak Prescott was a little more unstable than usual with his two interceptions and no touchdowns, but with the defense allowing 44 points, he was boxed into an aggressive mindset by default.
With a clutch sum of 1.34, Prescott grades as the most reliable quarterback in crunch time in the NFL this season. He’s second in both passing yards and passing touchdowns, and he’s the third-most efficient QB in the league in terms of EPA per dropback under pressure.
4) Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 87.4 (B+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 6
Lamar Jackson missed Week 8 due to a hamstring injury, though the Baltimore Ravens were able to defeat the Bears, anyway. His return should be a major boost as they look to turn the corner for the rest of the season.
3) Drake Maye, New England Patriots
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 91.5 (A-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 2
Drake Maye has been a revelation for the Patriots this year, and he’s a big reason why they sit with a 6-2 record through their first eight games of the season. He finished their Sunday win against the Browns with 282 passing yards, three touchdowns, an interception, 50 rushing yards on seven carries, and a 135.8 passer rating.
Maye leads the league in passer rating among the NFL quarterbacks with five or more starts this season. He also ranks in at least the top seven in completion percentage, passing yards, net yards per attempt, EPA per dropback, and clutch sum.
2) Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 92.7 (A-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 4
Sunday night brought together the Green Bay Packers’ last two starting quarterbacks, as Jordan Love battled against Rodgers and the Steelers. Love came out victorious in the highly anticipated battle, throwing for 360 yards, three touchdowns, no interceptions, and a 78.4% completion percentage in Green Bay’s 35-25 victory.
Through Week 8, Love ranks seventh in EPA per dropback and has the highest EPA per dropback average in a clean pocket in the entire NFL. He’s also tied for sixth in net yards per attempt and ranks fourth in EPA per rush.
1) Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 97.7 (A+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 1
Daniel Jones remains at the top of PFSN’s QBi grading scale for the sixth week in a row. In the Indianapolis Colts’ blowout win over the Titans on Sunday, he finished with 272 passing yards, three touchdowns, no interceptions, a 136.0 passer rating, and a 72.4% completion percentage.
As one could expect, given his extremely high QBi grade, Jones ranks in the top five in practically every major passing category that PFSN has in its analytics database. Most notably, he’s the second-most efficient QB under pressure and ranks second in EPA per dropback.
