The Georgia Bulldogs are currently locked in an unlikely, tough encounter against the Florida Gators following KJ Bolden’s ejection. The Bulldogs are behind early in the fourth quarter against a 3-4 Florida Gators side that recently fired their head coach, Billy Napier.
The Bulldogs had two ranked wins and are 6-1 on the season following a recent victory over Ole Miss. According to PFSN’s playoff meter, they had a 71.9% chance of reaching the playoffs before today’s game. However, an unlikely loss could have an impact on that.

Was Georgia Safety KJ Bolden Unfairly Ejected for Targeting?
During the matchup against the Gators, the Bulldogs’ sophomore defensive back was ejected from the game following a targeting call. Fans of the program began to question the referee following the decision, earning comparisons to a call earlier this year.
This wasn’t called targeting on Caleb Downs but KJ Bolden hits a player in the chest and gets ejected
The SEC refs are the worst of the worst https://t.co/3oKvzHLeGc

“This wasn’t called targeting on Caleb Downs, but KJ Bolden hits a player in the chest and gets ejected? The SEC refs are the worst of the worst.” One fan questioned following the decision.
Downs, during Ohio State’s earlier game today against Penn State, got away with a call that many believe should have been a penalty at best, and an ejection at worst. The Buckeyes’ safety made direct head-to-head contact with the Penn State receiver.
That seems like a play they would literally show in the training on how to recognize targeting…

“That seems like a play they would literally show in the training on how to recognize targeting…” one fan stated, referring to the play from Downs’ earlier today. However, many believe that Bolden’s ejection was a complete farce.
So… Georgia’s DB is called for targeting but Caleb Downs wasn’t??? Georgia DB was going stomach and the WR tucked his head down into the on coming helmet such a bad rule. Needs to be more clear. Can’t let morons decipher it blankly.

This call potentially changed the tide of the game drastically. According to PFSN’s Safety Impact Ratings, Bolden is Georgia’s top safety and one of the best in the nation. With an impact score of 81.0, he ranks 54th nationally.
His ejection may have given Florida a glint of hope in an otherwise terrible season. Coming off a victory against Mississippi State, the Gators are currently 3-4 on the season. They are also 2-2 within the SEC, with interim head coach Billy Gonzales taking over for his first game.
The refs have:
• Missed a PI on Florida when a defender nearly decapitated a Georgia WR before the ball got there
• Called a false start on Georgia when Florida was offside
• Kicked a Georgia defender out of the game on a ticky-tack callNo agenda here.

As Georgia enters the last minutes of the game, a win against the Gators will be vital to continue their momentum. They have a game against an on-form Texas Longhorns team coming up in two weeks, with Alabama starting to creep up on them in the rankings.
