Iapani Laloulu is a center from Oregon who is ranked No. 57 on my NFL Draft Top 100 Big Board. This comprehensive scouting report analyzes Laloulu’s draft potential, current mock draft trends, and where he ranks among the top prospects.

Iapani Laloulu’s NFL Draft Potential
Iapani Laloulu has been one of the unheralded stars of Oregon’s season thus far. After playing in 14 games and starting one contest as a true freshman, and then starting all 14 games as a true sophomore in 2024, Laloulu has locked down not only the role, but the national spotlight with his Rimington-worthy play. Indiana got the better of him more than usual, but more often than not in 2025, Laloulu has been borderline dominant.
As a prospect, Laloulu has a profile that starkly contrasts fellow early-round candidates Brailsford and Lew. While other centers in the class thrive with their athleticism, Laloulu is a power plant at the fulcrum, whose hyper-dense, well-leveraged 6’2″, 329-pound frame is the source of spectacular hand force, driving power, and power resistance on blocks. Laloulu is incredibly imposing physically, with the violent strike power to shock opponents out of rhythm, and the suffocating core, grip, and anchor strength to limit displacement before it starts.
Beyond the physical profile, Laloulu brings plenty of the desired intangibles at the center position. He’s an elite pre-snap processor who can call out blitz threats and assist with protection work, and he has stellar footwork efficiency and anchor consistency. Athleticism is something he can’t claim as a strength, however. He can be plodding and heavy-footed, and while he has measured on-attack burst, his corrective mobility and flexibility are close to average.
Nonetheless, even with his athletic limitations, Laloulu has the raw power, strength, football IQ, leverage, and physicality to be a reliable starter — preferably in power, gap, or inside zone-heavy schemes.
CFB Week 9 Update
In gritty conditions, Laloulu’s raw power element proved crucial for helping the Ducks eclipse 200 yards rushing in a 21-7 win against Wisconsin — especially without the aid of likely first-round QB prospect Dante Moore. Laloulu’s combined leverage and power profile play extremely well within interior gaps, and his ability to win at contact, dominate the point of attack, and impose his will to wrench open lanes, is part of what makes him a likely Day 2 pick in a modern NFL that’s trended more toward ball control and heavy-set trench play in recent years.
CFB Week 10 Update
Oregon was on a bye in Week 10, but the Ducks will return to action in Week 11 against the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Hawkeyes’ passing game won’t stress Oregon’s secondary, but the Ducks will be forced to play fast and physical downhill against the run, and they’ll be tested in the trenches on both sides of the ball by Iowa’s tough, well-coached, and NFL talent-laden fronts.
CFB Week 11 Update
Oregon’s physicality was tested in the trenches against Iowa, and while Laloulu got caught grasping at times with his lack of elite recovery athleticism, he held up well with his stout point-of-contact leverage, hand power, and anchor strength. Additionally, he showcased his measured range in the run game, climbing to the second level and reaching landmarks with efficiency. There’ll always be a slight tradeoff away from athleticism with Laloulu, but he’s a sound player with a skill set tailor-made for contact.
