Pirelli began their calendar photoshoot in 1964, and next year, in 2026, they will release their 52nd edition of the calendar. The 2026 calendar for the Italian tyre manufacturer company was shot in Norfolk, Essex, London, and New York City.

In addition to Williams, celebrities such as Tilda Swinton, Gwendoline Christie, Irina Shayk, and FKA Twigs also participated in the Pirelli photoshoot, with Norwegian fashion photographer Sølve Sundsbø behind the camera.

Williams recently took to social media to share several pictures from her photoshoot, in which she wore a black monokini, styled her hair in a bun, and sported bold eye makeup. The images featured fire in the background.

“Timeless, bold, and full of fire. Grateful to join the 2026 #PirelliCalendar. @pirelli,” Williams captioned her Instagram post.

Preti expressed his admiration for Williams’ picture with several fire emojis.

“fire,” Preti commented.

On the tennis side of things, Williams made her return to the sport this year after a 16-month hiatus, participating in the North American hard-court swing. She first competed at the 2025 Citi DC Open in Washington, D.C., and then took part in the Cincinnati Open.

The former World No. 1’s final tournament of the 2025 season was the US Open, where she competed in all three events: singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. In the singles event, the seven-time Grand Slam champion lost in the first round to Karolína Muchová. She also exited in the first round of the mixed doubles event, where she partnered with Reilly Opelka, after being eliminated by the duo of Muchová and Andrey Rublev.

For the women’s doubles event at the US Open, Williams teamed up with Leylah Fernandez. They reached the quarterfinals before being defeated by the eventual runners-up, Kateřina Siniaková and Taylor Townsend.

Williams To Begin Her 2026 Season at ASB Classic

Looking ahead, Williams is set to compete in a record 33rd consecutive WTA season when she takes to the court in 2026. Her first tournament will be the 2026 ASB Classic, scheduled to take place from January 5 to January 11, 2026. The matches of the WTA 250 tournament will be held on the outdoor hard courts at the Manuka Doctor Arena in Auckland.

In addition to the former World No. 1, players like last year’s runner-up Naomi Osaka, Iva Jović, and Lulu Sun will also compete at the ASB Classic. Williams’ best result at this tournament was in 2015 when she claimed the title. She also finished as the runner-up in 2014 to Ana Ivanovic.

In 2015, Williams was seeded third in Auckland. She began her campaign by defeating Jana Čepelová in the first round with a scoreline of 6-1, 6-0. She then overcame Kurumi Nara, winning with a 6-4, 6-1 score in the second round.

In the quarterfinals, the seven-time Grand Slam champion eliminated Elena Vesnina with a score of 6-2, 6-4. She secured her place in the final by triumphing over compatriot Lauren Davis with a score of 6-0, 6-3 in the semifinals. In the championship match, Williams defeated top seed Caroline Wozniacki with a score of 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 to win the tournament.
