New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd was shot and critically wounded in Midtown early Sunday morning and is now clinging to life at Bellevue Hospital, police and team officials said.

The shooting took place on West 38th Street near Seventh Avenue shortly after 2 a.m., according to police, who did not identify Boyd as the victim.

However, sources told The Post it was the 29-year-old NFL cornerback.

The team later confirmed that Boyd was involved in the shooting.

“We are aware of the situation involving Kris Boyd and will have no further comment at this time,” a rep said.

Boyd was shot in the abdomen outside Sei Less restaurant after a dispute turned violent, with the gunmen firing two shots, law enforcement sources told The Post.

The sources said Boyd was with a group of friends outside the trendy hot spot when the dispute broke out, ending with shots fired — but it is unclear if he was the intended target.

The sources said the shooter fled the scene in a BMW X6 SUV — but witnesses were uncooperative with cops.

A second vehicle, a high-end silver Mercedes-Benz Mayback, also fled the scene after the shooting, the sources said.

Photos from the scene also show a Rhino GX, a luxury armored SUV manufactured by US Specialty Vehicles that sells for up to $300,000, parked outside the restaurant after police arrived.

Boyd lapsed in and out of consciousness before he was rushed to the hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

Cops said there have been no arrests and the shooting is under investigation.

Sei Less, an Asian-fusion eatery, has been a popular spot for celebrities, including hip-hop and music stars.

Club founder Dara Mirjahangiry boasted on Good Morning America that troubled rapper Sean Diddy Combs once bought everyone drinks for the house during one visit.

The restaurant said in a statement Monday that the shooting happened outside the premises after it was closed.

“Since the onset of the police investigation, we have been fully cooperative with law enforcement and shared the appropriate security footage to assist their inquiry,” the statement said.

Boyd, a 5-11 defensive back for Gang Green joined the team this year after coming up with the Minnesota Vikings before the 2019 season. He has also spent time with the Arizona Cardinals and the Houston Texans.

Boyd is currently listed on the injured reserve for the Jets.

He suffered a shoulder injury during pre-season practice and has not played a snap this season.

The Jets are not on the field today after losing to the New England Patriots on Thursday night.

Boyd, who has made more than $8 million in his career, signed a $1.6 million contract to play for the Jets this season, according to the sports salary tracking site Spotrac.com.
