What Is the Fantasy Impact of the Week 12 NFL Weather?

Weather information was taken from Weather.com at 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 23. In-depth stats are courtesy of Pro Football Reference.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Chicago Bears

  • Kickoff: Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET
  • Expected Temperature: Low 50s
  • Showers: 0%
  • Wind: 7 mph West-northwesterly

After kickers were given nightmares in multiple games across the league in Week 11, Cairo Santos and Chris Boswell could have been forgiven for fearing the worst this week. Instead, the Pittsburgh Steelers travel to the Chicago Bears on what should be a perfect November afternoon at Soldier Field.

Aaron Rodgers’ wrist injury is one to keep an eye on if you have any Steelers pass catchers, with the veteran quarterback eager to play, but not guaranteed to suit up. All of Chicago’s pass catchers have been volatile, outside of Rome Odunze, but the Steelers have allowed a league-high 261.7 passing yards per game this year.

New England Patriots at Cincinnati Bengals

  • Kickoff: Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET
  • Expected Temperature: Low to mid 50s
  • Showers: 2%
  • Wind: 7 mph Westerly

With the weather in Cincinnati set to be just as calm, the only fantasy impacts in this one should be player-based. Two notable absentees headline the Cincinnati Bengals’ injury report, while two returning stars could shake things up for the New England Patriots.

Joe Flacco is set to make what will likely be his final start for the Bengals, with Joe Burrow being held out another week. He’ll be without Ja’Marr Chase, though, who is serving a one-game suspension for spitting at Jalen Ramsey last weekend.

While Tee Higgins and Noah Fant owners should be rubbing their hands together, those rostering TreVeyon Henderson or Mack Hollins might be concerned. Rhamondre Stevenson is expected to make his return, along with Kayshon Boutte, but both players may have lost their jobs while away.

Henderson and Hollins have both excelled in expanded roles with their teammates sidelined, and it will be interesting to see how things play out this Sunday.

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers

  • Kickoff: Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET
  • Expected Temperature: High 40s
  • Showers: 0%
  • Wind: 9 mph Westerly

Jordan Love will face off against a tricky Minnesota Vikings defense with an ever-more banged-up wide receiver corps this Sunday. Jayden Reed remains sidelined, while Matthew Golden, Dontayvion Wicks, and Savion Williams are all questionable.

Josh Jacobs is also an injury concern, and it’ll be important to pay attention, with the star running back’s inclusion set to be a game-time decision.

The Vikings’ passing game has been atrocious with J.J. McCarthy, but Justin Jefferson remains a must-start. Jordan Addison retains his high ceiling, but fantasy managers could be forgiven for looking elsewhere this weekend after several disappointing performances.

Indianapolis Colts at Kansas City Chiefs

  • Kickoff: Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET
  • Expected Temperature: Mid to high 50s
  • Showers: 5%
  • Wind: 4 mph Southerly

The Indianapolis Colts and Kansas City Chiefs rank first and fourth, respectively, in PFSN’s Offense Impact metric this season. They face off this Sunday in a huge game for the reigning AFC champions, who are running out of time to catch the Denver Broncos in the AFC West.

They’ll be without Isiah Pacheco again, meaning Kareem Hunt will again take on the bulk of Kansas City’s rushing work. That’s quite a contrast to the situation the Colts find themselves in, with MVP candidate Jonathan Taylor enjoying a historic season.

A loss to the Colts would mean the Chiefs could win a maximum of 11 games this season, which would tie their lowest win total since 2017.

Seattle Seahawks at Tennessee Titans

  • Kickoff: Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET
  • Expected Temperature: High 50s to low 60s
  • Showers: 1%
  • Wind: 2 mph Northerly

The Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans could hardly have hope for a better weather forecast for their showdown on Sunday. The Titans are in the rare position of having no obvious fantasy options on their roster, with even Calvin Ridley offering very little while healthy.

With Ridley out, though, and Elic Ayomanor also sidelined, those streaming a tight end might consider Chig Okonkwo, though there are still better options out there. For the Seahawks, Kenneth Walker III suffered a groin injury on Friday and is a player to monitor.

Rookie guard Grey Zabel is out with a knee injury, and while he may not directly impact your fantasy lineup, he has been a big part of Seattle’s offensive success this year. The Seahawks defense remains elite, though, and both Tyjae Spears and Tony Pollard are desperation flexes at best this week.

New York Jets at Baltimore Ravens

  • Kickoff: Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET
  • Expected Temperature: Mid 50s
  • Showers: 0%
  • Wind: 10 mph West-southwesterly

The highest winds of the weekend will likely be in Baltimore, where the New York Jets take on the Baltimore Ravens. It won’t be enough to affect fantasy decisions, though, with two very contrasting teams facing off in what should be a one-sided battle.

The Jets entered the season with high hopes, having made several big changes during the offseason, but have largely disappointed in Aaron Glenn’s first season as head coach. The Ravens, meanwhile, lost five of their first six games, but are now firmly back in the Super Bowl conversation after four consecutive wins.

Tyrod Taylor should make the Jets’ passing game much more productive, and Mason Taylor is a fine fantasy pick-up at tight end. With Garrett Wilson out, John Metchie and Adonai Mitchell will be vying for targets out wide, but both can be left alone in fantasy for now.

Carolina Panthers at San Francisco 49ers

  • Kickoff: Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET
  • Expected Temperature: High to mid 50s
  • Showers: 5%
  • Wind: 6 mph Northwesterly

Rounding out Week 12 are the Carolina Panthers and San Francisco 49ers. The Panthers have surprised many with their performances so far this year, and are level with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on six wins.

With the Buccaneers facing a tricky matchup against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, the Panthers could be in position to top the NFC South with a win in Santa Clara. That will be easier said than done, although the 49ers have alternated wins and losses for nine consecutive weeks and beat the Arizona Cardinals last weekend.

The only standout injury for fantasy is Eddy Piñeiro, who has been the fourth-best kicker in fantasy (tied) since taking over in Week 2. Unless you roster Piñeiro, though, all of the usual faces should be playable.
