NFL Teams on the Rise
Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys look like a different team since acquiring Quinnen Williams and Logan Wilson in trades prior to the deadline. Dallas has won each of their last three games, including beating both Super Bowl LIX teams in the span of four days.
After upsetting the Eagles and Chiefs, the Cowboys are now 6-5-1. Dallas still faces an uphill battle to make it into Wild Card territory. However, stranger things have happened in the NFL, and Thursday’s win was huge for their playoff hopes.
Dallas entered Week 13 with a 10.7% chance of making the playoffs, but their odds are now at 23.2%, according to PFSN’s NFL Playoff Predictor.
Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers kicked off Thanksgiving on a high note, getting out in front of the Lions 31-24 in a shootout that saw Jordan Love throw four touchdowns. With the win, the Packers jumped to 8-3-1 for the year.
In a competitive NFC playoff race, picking up a key win over a contender like Detroit is a significant victory for the Packers. Perhaps most importantly, it gives them a sweep over their division rival for the 2025 NFL season. That could come in handy as tiebreakers are used for playoff seeding. Green Bay now has a 86.4% chance of making the playoffs and 55.9% odds of winning the division, according to PFSN’s NFL Playoff Predictor.
NFL Teams on the Decline
Kansas City Chiefs
After last week’s impressive come-from-behind win against the Colts, the Chiefs couldn’t keep up their magic and suffered a brutal 31-28 loss to the Cowboys on Thanksgiving.
Is it possible that Kansas City’s dynastic run is coming to an end and they won’t even make the playoffs this season?
According to PFSN’s NFL Playoff Predictor, Kansas City now has just a 27.1% chance to make the playoffs, and they are a long shot to win the AFC West, with just 1.7% odds.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Not too long ago, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers seemed like a lock to win the NFC South. However, after a ton of injuries and a three-game losing streak, the Bucs are now facing competition from the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons.
The Bucs still have a 67.2% chance of winning the division and a 68.3% chance of making the playoffs, but they’ll need to get healthy down the stretch and play significantly better than what we’ve seen in recent weeks. Fortunately for Tampa Bay, they have an easy schedule down the stretch and they control their own destiny.
