When Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule landed Dylan Raiola, it was the Huskers’ biggest win in years.
Raiola was a top quarterback and a consensus 5-Star recruit. Despite family ties – his father, Dominic, was an All-American and Rimington Trophy winner with a lengthy NFL career, and his uncle, Donovan, was Nebraska’s offensive line coach – landing him was a coup since he had been committed to Georgia, one of the nation’s top programs.

Dylan Raiola To Enter Transfer Portal?
However, the situation quickly changed after his arrival. Raiola earned the starting quarterback role, but both he and the Huskers soon faced challenges.
Nebraska ultimately finished with a 7-6 record in 2024, including a disappointing 3-6 mark in the Big Ten.
Following the 2024 season, Nebraska lost a few defensive assistants to Florida State, including coordinator Tony White. Despite this turnover, with Raiola returning for his second year and Rhule entering a critical third season, hopes were high despite Rhule’s 12-13 record over his two seasons.
Despite losing defensive assistants, including Tony White to Florida State, hopes were high with Raiola returning for year two and Rhule entering year three, despite Rhule’s 12-13 record.
Nebraska began the 2024 season 6-2. However, disaster struck during the third quarter of a 21-17 loss to USC, when Raiola suffered a broken fibula requiring season-ending surgery.

Freshman TJ Lateef took over as quarterback after Raiola’s injury. While Lateef provided some sparks, Nebraska was overmatched in the final two games, first losing 37-10 to a Penn State team that had already parted ways with longtime coach James Franklin (who has since accepted the same job at Virginia Tech), then falling 40-16 to rival Iowa on Black Friday. As a result, the team lost three of their last four games and finished just 7-5
Raiola completed 181 of 250 passes for 2,000 yards, 18 touchdowns, and six interceptions on the season. Nebraska a PFSN CFB OFFi mark of 80.3 and a B- grade while Raiola himself earned a PFSN CFB QB Impact score of 77.1, good for a C+. Lateef scored a 76.0, grading out as a C.
Nebraska’s difficult finish to 2025 and offseason developments led to speculation that Raiola may have played his last game in a Nebraska uniform.
Once Rhule parted ways with Raiola’s uncle, the writing was on the wall. On Monday after the season, those rumors became reality as Raiola officially announced his intention to enter the transfer portal. Attention now turns to where Raiola will land next.
Oregon Interested in Dylan Raiola?
Rumors linked Raiola to Texas Tech because of his admiration for Patrick Mahomes, but he may have another destination in mind.
According to Chris Hummer of CBS and 247 Sports, Raiola is interested in the Oregon Ducks.

“Sources have mentioned Oregon as an early school of interest for Dylan Raiola and his camp,” Hummer reported.
Almost any player would consider Oregon if coach Dan Lanning is interested. Though still seeking their first national title, Oregon is now a college football power.
Oregon is set at quarterback with Dante Moore, who will lead them against James Madison on Saturday. As a draft-eligible redshirt sophomore, Moore looks like a surefire first-round pick, ranking sixth on PFSN’s Ian Cummings’ big board.
Moore completed 227 of 313 passes (72.5%) for 2,733 yards, 24 touchdowns, and only six interceptions. He earned an 85.9 PFSN CFB QB Impact score, grading out as a B.
Despite struggles, Raiola’s talent ensures interest from top programs, and if Moore does indeed declare for the draft, Raiola could be headed to the Pacific Northwest.
