Josh Allen, QB, Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen suffered a foot injury at the end of the first half of the Buffalo Bills’ Week 16 game against the Cleveland Browns. Allen returned to the field in the second half and completed the game.

The veteran quarterback was listed as a non-participant for the team’s Tuesday walkthrough, but told reporters that the injury “feels good” and that he is “ready to go”. He was upgraded to a limited participant on Wednesday.

Allen will likely be under center for Week 17’s matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson suffered a back injury during the second quarter of the team’s matchup against the New England Patriots in Week 16. He could not return to the game after halftime in the loss.

Head coach John Harbaugh described Jackson as “day-to-day”, but he was listed as a non-participant for the team’s practice on Wednesday. If Jackson is unable to play, then Tyler Huntley would be under center.

Jordan Love, QB, Green Bay Packers

Jordan Love was ruled out of the Green Bay Packers’ matchup against the Chicago Bears in the first half after suffering a concussion on a helmet-to-helmet hit. The veteran quarterback was not able to return in the overtime loss.

Love will need to progress through the NFL’s concussion protocol to return to action in Week 17. He logged limited practice on Tuesday, which puts him on track to play on Saturday if he continues to make progress.

Backup quarterback Malik Willis also suffered a shoulder injury against the Chicago Bears and is limited on Tuesday, but should be ready to start if Love can’t clear the protocol.

J.J. McCarthy, QB, Minnesota Vikings | Out

Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy suffered a hand injury during the team’s Week 16 game against the New York Giants. Initial scans didn’t show any damage, but follow-up X-rays discovered a minor hairline fracture in McCarthy’s right hand.

The team has already ruled McCarthy out for Thursday’s matchup against the Detroit Lions, but has not officially ruled him out for Week 18 as well.

Max Brosmer will be the team’s starting quarterback in Week 17.

Marcus Mariota, QB, Washington Commanders | Out

Marcus Mariota has filled in for Jayden Daniels throughout the 2025 season. In Week 16, it was Mariota’s turn to miss time with injuries. Mariota suffered hand and quad injuries against the Philadelphia Eagles that ultimately knocked him out of the game. The hand injury also required stitches.

Mariota was ruled out for Week 17 on Wednesday. The Commanders have also shut down Jayden Daniels for the season, which leaves veteran Josh Johnson as the starter.

Josh Jacobs, RB, Green Bay Packers

Josh Jacobs has been dealing with a knee injury for several weeks and was a game-time decision for the Green Bay Packers against the Chicago Bears in Week 16. Jacobs missed practice throughout the week but still suited up for the game. He was in a heavy time share with backup Emanuel Wilson, especially late in the game.

Jacobs did not officially suffer a setback against the Chicago Bears, but his practice reps will be managed throughout the week. He was listed as a limited participant on Tuesday. Wilson would be the starter if Jacobs is forced to miss the team’s Week 17 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.

Quinshon Judkins, RB, Cleveland Browns | Out

Cleveland Browns’ rookie running back Quinshon Judkins suffered a significant lower-body injury against the Buffalo Bills in Week 16 while catching a swing pass in the first half. There was initial concern that Judkins had sustained a knee injury, but testing showed his knee was intact. Unfortunately, he still had a season-ending fibula fracture and dislocated ankle.

Judkins was placed on injured reserve, ending his 2025 season as the RB25 in PPR points per game (12.1). Fellow rookie Dylan Sampson has been dealing with his own injuries (he was inactive on Sunday) and would be the lead back if he’s healthy. If not, then undrafted rookie Rahiem Sanders and veteran Trayveon Williams would lead the backfield.

Javonte Williams, RB, Dallas Cowboys

Javonte Williams suffered a neck injury early in the Dallas Cowboys’ matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. He returned after halftime and finished the game without further issues.

The veteran running back was a limited participant in practice to start the week, but is expected to suit up on Thursday against the Washington Commanders. Malik Davis would be the starter if Williams suffers a setback.

TreVeyon Henderson, RB, New England Patriots

TreVeyon Henderson logged just 14 snaps for the New England Patriots against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16 before suffering a concussion. He did not return to the game.

Henderson will need to progress through the steps of the NFL’s concussion protocol before he can play in a Week 17 matchup against the New York Jets on Sunday. Rhamondre Stevenson would function as the team’s three-down back with Henderson injured, but the team also signed veteran Elijah Mitchell to the practice squad to serve as depth if Henderson is ruled out.

Aaron Jones Sr., RB, Minnesota Vikings

Aaron Jones Sr. briefly left the Minnesota Vikings’ matchup against the New York Giants in Week 16 due to an ankle injury. He was able to return once Jordan Mason left the game with his own ankle injury just a few snaps later.

Jones was listed as a non-participant in practice on Monday, but upgraded to limited on Tuesday. He is expected to play in Week 17 with Zavier Scott serving as the team’s backup.

Jaylen Warren, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

Jaylen Warren had his best game of the season for the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 16 against the Detroit Lions. Unfortunately, he also picked up a hip injury in the win.

Warren was listed as a limited participant for practice on Wednesday and is trending toward playing in Week 17. Veteran running back Kenneth Gainwell would take on a full-time role if Warren is forced to miss.

Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints

Alvin Kamara has not participated in a practice or game for the New Orleans Saints since Week 12. He was also a non-participant for the team’s walkthrough on Tuesday ahead of Week 17’s matchup against the Tennessee Titans. He was also listed as a non-participant on Wednesday.

If Kamara is unable to play, the Saints will once again lean on a backfield comprised of Taysom Hill, Audric Estime, and Evan Hull.

David Montgomery, RB, Detroit Lions | Questionable

David Montgomery was added to the Detroit Lions’ injury report on Tuesday due to illness. He was listed as a non-participant.

Montgomery is expected to play against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday, even with a questionable tag heading into the game. He has taken a clear backseat to Jahmyr Gibbs in the backfield in recent weeks.

Kimani Vidal, RB, Los Angeles Chargers

Kimani Vidal suffered a neck injury in the fourth quarter of the Los Angeles Chargers’ win over the Dallas Cowboys. He did not return to the field but was described as “day-to-day” by head coach Jim Harbaugh after the game. Vidal did not practice on Tuesday or Wednesday.

If Vidal is unable to return, then rookie Omarion Hampton would be set to take on a bell cow role once again for the Chargers, with Hassan Haskins serving as a complement in the backfield.

Jordan Mason, RB, Minnesota Vikings | Out

Like Aaron Jones, Jordan Mason suffered an ankle injury in the first half of the Minnesota Vikings’ matchup against the New York Giants. Unlike Jones, Mason was unable to return to the field.

Mason was officially ruled out for Week 17, leaving Jones and Zavier Scott as the running mates for the Vikings with Max Brosmer under center.

Bhayshul Tuten, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars

Bhayshul Tuten missed the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Week 16 matchup against the Denver Broncos after undergoing finger surgery. The rookie running back is not expected to miss the rest of the season, but it is unclear if he will be able to return in Week 17.

Fantasy managers will understand how close Tuten is to returning based on practice reports throughout the week. Travis Etienne Jr. took on lead back duties against Denver (16 carries for 50 yards with four receptions for 16 yards and a touchdown) and would continue that as long as Tuten is sidelined.

Rashee Rice, WR, Kansas City Chiefs | Out

Rashee Rice missed the Kansas City Chiefs’ matchup against the Tennessee Titans in Week 16 due to a concussion. Rice remained in the concussion protocol on Monday this week and was listed as a non-participant in practice.

The Chiefs play the Denver Broncos on Thursday, giving Rice a very short turnaround to complete the protocol. The Kansas City Chiefs placed Rice on injured reserve on Wednesday, ending his season.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, Detroit Lions | Questionable

Amon-Ra St. Brown was listed as a limited participant for the Detroit Lions’ practice on Tuesday due to a knee injury. Head coach Dan Campbell told reporters that the veteran receiver, who had some knee irritation, was expected to suit up for Week 17’s matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.

Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Arizona Cardinals

Marvin Harrison Jr. returned to the field for the Arizona Cardinals in Week 16 after missing the two previous games with a heel injury. The second-year receiver was limited with a heel injury for Wednesday’s walkthrough, but there is no indication that he suffered a new injury.

Expect Harrison to suit up in Week 17 unless he is downgraded in practice over the next few days.

Rome Odunze, WR, Chicago Bears

Rome Odunze has missed three games with a stress fracture in his foot. Odunze tried to return from the injury in Week 15 but aggravated it in pregame warmups.

Head coach Ben Johnson told reporters that he expects Odunze to contribute to the team again this season, but did not clarify when. The Bears have clinched a playoff spot, so it seems unlikely that the team will rush Odunze back to action. He was a non-participant in practice on Dec. 24.

Expect DJ Moore, Colston Loveland, and Luther Burden III (if healthy) to lead Chicago’s passing attack with Odunze sidelined.

Davante Adams, WR, Los Angeles Chargers

Davante Adams suffered a hamstring injury during the Los Angeles Rams’ Week 15 win over the Detroit Lions. Adams did not participate in practice before Week 16’s matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, but wasn’t ruled out until their Thursday game.

Head coach Sean McVay told reporters on Monday that Adams was making “really good progress”, but did not state his status going into Week 17’s matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Adams is not expected to return to the field until the NFL playoffs.

The Rams leaned heavily on their 13 personnel (three tight ends) without Adams. Xavier Smith (two receptions for 57 yards) and Konata Mumpfield (three receptions for 40 yards) also saw increased roles.

Luther Burden III, WR, Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears’ rookie wide receiver Luther Burden III had seen his role increase in recent weeks, but an ankle injury in Week 15 kept him off the field against the Green Bay Packers in Week 16.

Burden was listed as a non-participant for the Bears’ unofficial Tuesday practice, but he still has chances to upgrade his participation before Week 17’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. He logged a limited practice on Wednesday, a positive development for his potential return in Week 17.

Ricky Pearsall, WR, San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall missed the team’s matchup against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 16 with a knee injury. Pearsall aggravated the same injury that cost him six games earlier in the season, late in the team’s Week 15 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Pearsall logged a limited practice on Wednesday and has a chance to return against the Chicago Bears in Week 17.

Pat Bryant, WR, Denver Broncos | Out

Denver Broncos’ rookie receiver Pat Bryant was on the receiving end of a massive hit at the end of the Broncos’ loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars that required him to be stabilized and carted off the field. Bryant was sent to a local hospital for testing before being diagnosed with a concussion.

Bryant did not participate in practice on Tuesday, making it very unlikely that he can clear the concussion protocol by Thursday’s game. He was officially ruled out on Wednesday.

Troy Franklin becomes a priority waiver addition given his role increase with Bryant off the field.

Brock Bowers, TE, Las Vegas Raiders | Out

The Raiders surprisingly placed Brock Bowers on the injured reserve on Wednesday, ending his season with just two weeks to go.

Bowers has spent most of 2025 navigating a knee injury. The second-year tight end ultimately recovered from the injury, but the team decided to shelve him at the end of the year to ensure he did not aggravate it going into the offseason.

Michael Mayer becomes a priority free agent for Week 17.

George Kittle, TE, San Francisco 49ers

George Kittle missed the final drives of the San Francisco 49ers’ win over the Indianapolis Colts on Monday with an ankle injury. Kittle had his ankle rolled up on early in the game and aggravated the injury again late. Initial testing showed that Kittle had suffered a mid-to-low ankle sprain.

Kittle has a chance to play in Week 17 against the Chicago Bears, especially with both teams jockeying for an opportunity to be the top seed in the NFC playoffs. He did not participate in practice on Wednesday.

If he’s unable to go, then Jake Tonges will take over his role in the offense yet again.

T.J. Hockenson, TE, Minnesota Vikings | Out

T.J. Hockenson has been listed as a non-participant in practice for the Minnesota Vikings on Monday and Tuesday due to a shoulder injury. The veteran tight end was officially ruled out on Wednesday.

David Njoku, TE, Cleveland Browns

David Njoku has missed the last two Cleveland Browns games due to a knee injury that he suffered on a touchdown reception in Week 14. Njoku did not practice on Tuesday and isn’t expected to practice on Wednesday, putting him in doubt for Week 17 as well.

Harold Fannin Jr. will continue to dominate snaps and targets for the Browns at tight end with Njoku sidelined.

Dalton Kincaid, TE, Buffalo Bills

Buffalo Bills’ tight end Dalton Kincaid was listed as a non-participant in practice on Dec. 24. The team has been managing his practice reps this season due to a knee injury.

Kincaid has not surpassed a 40% snap share since Week 5 while playing through injuries. He will continue to be hard to trust if he’s active on Sunday.
