The NFL has taken several steps to ensure the game becomes a truly global entity. Over the years, overseas games have become all too common, with countries like Ireland and cities like Berlin getting their first taste of action this year. However, one of the most significant moves has come through the migration to digital streaming.

NFL Christmas Day Games Broadcasting Crew on Netflix
With an international audience watching the game simultaneously, platforms like Amazon Prime have invested heavily in bringing the games to their platforms. However, one of the biggest moves came with the introduction of the Christmas Games on Netflix. Here are the voices covering the game for the OTT giant this year.
A three-year deal that began last season will see Netflix pay an annual $150 million to bring the Christmas Day slate of games to its platform. With the NFL wanting an international audience and Netflix trying to break into live streaming, it is a mutually beneficial deal for both parties.
However, to further enhance the spectacle of the show, the digital streaming giant has gone above and beyond to make it an entertainment showcase alongside the sport’s brilliance.
This year, two games will headline the proceedings, as divisional rivalries and key seeding matchups unfold across the NFL. To mark the event, some names the football fan base is used to will handle broadcasting duties.
Scott Hanson (NFL Redzone) and Kyle Long (former NFL offensive lineman, CBS Sports) will cover with studio support, while Gene Steratore (former NFL official and rules analyst, CBS Sports) will break down any close calls during both games.
However, the announcing crew is wholly unique and diverse as Netflix tries to capture as many eyeballs as possible.
Cowboys vs. Commanders
Before the first game, where the Dallas Cowboys take on the Washington Commanders, coverage begins with a pregame show.
On the lineup for the game are some of the biggest names in the NFL world. Kay Adams, who has become an uber-popular name across the fan base with her work on the “Up & Adams” podcast, will be serving as the desk host.
She will be joined by elite NFL talent in Austin Ekeler, a three-time Super Bowl champion and one of the most charismatic names in the game, Michael Irvin, as well as another three-time champion, Devin McCourty, all of whom will serve as desk analysts for the time frame.
The best way to spread Christmas cheer is watching football all day long.

Additionally, comedians Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura, who have become synonymous with NFL fandom, will be special guests on the game’s broadcast.
For the in-game broadcast, however, there will be a crew change. Rather than bring in an entirely new cast, Netflix is going with some tried-and-tested names. Ian Eagle of CBS Sports, who also handles duties for Amazon Prime’s TNF coverage, will be in his usual play-by-play chair.
He will be joined by Matt Ryan and Nate Burleson, a quarterback and wide receiver combo, to serve as analysts in the booth. The duo of Sara Walsh, who fans might be familiar with from the NFL Network, and Melanie Collins, who shines at CBS Sports, will be reporting from the sidelines during the NFC East clash.
Lions vs. Vikings
For the second game, it will be the Detroit Lions who try to keep their playoff hopes alive when they take on the Minnesota Vikings in an NFC North extravaganza. While most expect the Lions to walk out the victor, that division has shown that it isn’t immune to surprises.

The pregame coverage for the clash will star Jamie Erdahl of the NFL Network as the desk host, along with two relatively new players to the broadcasting game, Manti Te’O and Brandon Marshall, who bring a wealth of experience with them as desk analysts.
But the stardom isn’t shy in this encounter either, as WWE Superstar and Chicago Bears super fan, Seth Rollins, will be joining the team as a special guest on the broadcast, as his team keeps a close eye on this one.
For the in-game production, Noah Eagle from NBC Sports will handle the play-by-play commentary. He will be joined by one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, Drew Brees, as the analyst for the evening.
They’ll have the help of AJ Ross from CBS Sports and The Athletic’s legend, Dianna Russini, for sideline reporting during the game.
With performances by Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg scheduled throughout the night, the NFL and Netflix are holding nothing back in trying to make this a day worth remembering on the sports calendar.
