NFL Teams on the Rise
Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens entered Week 17 with the backs against the wall after blowing a fourth-quarter lead to the Patriots last week. Before Sunday, John Harbaugh’s squad had just an 8.0% chance of winning the AFC North and making the playoffs, according to PFSN’s NFL Playoff Predictor. However, a win over the Packers and a Browns upset over the Steelers boosted those odds to 47.2%.
Baltimore and Pittsburgh will now face off in Week 18 for the division crown and a playoff berth.

Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars were already in the driver’s seat in the AFC South. They’ve inched closer to a division title after fending off a tough Indianapolis Colts team in Week 17. Jacksonville entered the week with a 75.9% chance of winning the South. Now, Liam Coen’s group has a 90.5% chance of winning the division.
The Houston Texans also picked up a big win, but the Jaguars control their own destiny. If they beat the Tennessee Titans in Week 18, they will be AFC South champs.
NFL Teams on the Decline
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers were in pole position to win the AFC North entering Sunday. However, a shocking loss to the Cleveland Browns threw a wrench into Pittsburgh’s plans to clinch the division crown. That sets up a winner-take-all matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in the regular season finale. The Steelers had a 92.0% chance of winning the AFC North, but those odds have dropped to 52.8%.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers have already clinched a spot in the playoffs, so their Week 17 loss to the Texans wasn’t all that damaging. However, they still had an outside chance of winning the AFC West. The loss drops them to 11-5, making them the AFC’s 7-seed currently. A win would’ve increased Los Angeles’ division chances to 42.0%. Instead, those chances have plummeted to 0.0%.
