Grigor Dimitrov vs Corentin Moutet Preview

The 2025 season has been somewhat topsy-turvy for Dimitrov. He began with a strong showing at the Brisbane International, reaching the semifinals before falling to Jiri Lehecka. However, his form dipped in the following weeks, resulting in multiple early exits, including at the Australian Open in Melbourne, as well as in Qatar, Dubai, and a third-round finish at Indian Wells.

Dimitrov mounted a strong comeback at the Miami Open, reaching the semifinals before falling to Novak Djokovic, and followed it up with a quarterfinal run in Monte Carlo. However, right when it appeared he was regaining his rhythm, he faltered again during the rest of the clay-court swing, suffering a third-round exit in Madrid, and first-round defeat in both Rome and a similar result in Roland Garros due to a walkover.

The Bulgarian didn’t play any lead-up events to the grass-court Major. Although he was slated to face Gael Monfils at the Queen’s Club Championships, he made a last-minute withdrawal. Dimitrov entered the Wimbledon Championships as the 19th seed and opened his campaign with a commanding straight-sets win over Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka.

Moutet, meanwhile, came into the grass-court swing following a subpar clay season. He began his campaign in Stuttgart, where he defeated Fabio Fognini before falling to top seed Alexander Zverev in the second round. He improved at the Queen’s Club Championships, reaching the fourth round before losing to Jacob Fearnley.

However, the Frenchman turned things around in Mallorca, reaching the final before falling to Tallon Griekspoor in a tightly contested two-set match. At Wimbledon, he opened his campaign with a commanding straight-sets victory over Francisco Comesaña.

Grigor Dimitrov vs Corentin Moutet Head-to-Head

Thursday’s clash between Dimitrov and Moutet will mark their third meeting overall and the first in nearly four years. The latter won their previous encounter at the Melbourne Summer Series in 2021 and extended a 2-0 lead in their head-to-head.

Grigor Dimitrov vs Corentin Moutet Prediction

Dimitrov enters the contest with a 15–10 win-loss record in 2025, while Moutet holds a slightly underwhelming 16–13. The Bulgarian, making his 15th Wimbledon appearance, brings a wealth of experience on grass, and his powerful serve and groundstrokes could work in his favor. However, his lack of match play in the lead-up to the grass-court Major could be concerning.

Moutet, while not as experienced as Dimitrov, concluded his grass-court lead-up on a high, reaching the fourth round at the Queen’s Club and finishing as runner-up in Mallorca.
Moutet also holds a 2–0 head-to-head advantage over the Bulgarian.

Dimitrov holds has a win percentage of 62.5% on grass while Moutet holds 61.54%. However, given Moutet’s recent form and head-to-head lead, he may have a slight psychological advantage in the contest.

Pick: Moutet to win in five sets.
