As per a report from ESPN’s Shams Charania, Dončić has officially inked a three-year, $165 million maximum contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers. The deal also includes a player option for the 2028 season and was confirmed by his agent, Bill Duffy of WME Basketball.
However, the 26-year-old Slovenian superstar had something bigger in mind than just securing his financial future. Shortly after the announcement, Dončić took to his X account to share something far more personal and impactful. In a heartfelt post, Dončić revealed that he is donating $5 million to support 77 young athletes across the globe in chasing their dreams.

The number 77, of course, holds special significance as his jersey number and is now also a symbol of his generosity. Moreover, this gesture struck a chord with fans who have watched Dončić consistently step up for meaningful causes.
