Learner Tien continues his surge with a win over Rublev in Washington beaten his 4th top10 player

Learner Tien continued his impressive 2025 season by defeating Andrey Rublev 7–5, 6–2 in the second round of the ATP 500 event in Washington. The 19-year-old American showed poise and aggression, saving three set points in the first set before cruising through the second. This victory marked his fourth career win against a top 10 opponent, adding to earlier triumphs over Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, and Ben Shelton.

Joao Fonseca’s Breakthrough Moment

Joao Fonseca, another teenage talent making waves in 2025, earned his first top 10 win earlier this year at the Australian Open, where he stunned Andrey Rublev in straight sets: 7–6(1), 6–3, 7–6(5). The Brazilian’s performance was widely praised, especially given it was his Grand Slam debut. Despite his growing reputation, Fonseca remains at one top 10 victory so far.
