Alexander Bublik and Sebastian Baez withdraw from Toronto Masters 1000 after Sinner, Alcaraz, Djokovic

The Toronto Masters 1000 has suffered another setback with the confirmed withdrawals of Alexander Bublik and Sebastian Baez. Their absence adds to a growing list of top players who will not participate in the Canadian event, which has already seen the likes of Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, and Jannik Sinner pull out.

Bublik’s busy summer takes a toll

Alexander Bublik, ranked 30th in the world, has been active on the tour with deep runs in Roland Garros, a title win in Halle, and a semifinal appearance in Gstaad. The Kazakh player’s decision to skip Toronto appears to be a strategic move to manage his workload ahead of the US Open.

Baez’s struggles continue

Sebastian Baez, currently ranked 43rd, has been battling inconsistency and physical issues throughout the season. His withdrawal is a blow to South American representation at the tournament, especially given his recent form and potential to make a deep run on hard courts.

Replacements and tournament outlook

With Bublik and Baez out, their spots in the main draw will be filled by alternates, including Pablo Carreño Busta and Aleksandar Vukic. The tournament, set to begin next week, will still feature a competitive field led by Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, Holger Rune, and Andrey Rublev. Despite the high-profile absences, fans can expect high-quality tennis and emerging storylines as the North American hard-court season heats up.
