Legacy Youth Tennis and Education (LEGACY) is a nationally recognized, award-winning nonprofit tennis and youth development organization based in Philadelphia. As a USTA Foundation NJTL chapter and USTA TEAM USA training site, LEGACY provides a positive, inclusive, and high-performance environment where young people can grow as athletes and individuals. LEGACY offers programs for all ages and skill levels, from beginner classes to elite high-performance training. Our focus on character development, education, and community impact sets us apart in preparing players for success on and off the court.

Who we are looking for:
We are looking for high-achieving, driven individuals with great character who are looking to build their career, give back, and guide the next generation of top American tennis players.
Ideal candidates will possess a high-level playing background, show intensity on the court, have a desire to join a growing tennis center and be a positive role model with great character on and off the court. There are significant career opportunities at LEGACY with opportunities to work with the USTA around the country as you take some of the country’s best players to the next level on and off the court.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Serve as an on-court high-performance tennis coach for Center-based clinics and camps of all levels
- Maintain a defined pathway for students to progress within their respective clinics, and from one clinic to the next
- Participate in coaches’ meetings
- Participate in other relevant meetings, training, professional development activities, and special events
- Manage enrollment and update attendance rosters
- Ensure lessons are being fully implemented and teaching is of high quality
- Provide timely, clear, and accurate communication while delivering exceptional customer service to families
- Implement and utilize the USTA Player Development philosophies in all programs
- Maintain a presence at local tournaments where clinic participants compete
- Come to work dressed neatly and professionally
- Assist in promoting all LEGACY special events
- Assist with maintaining the tennis courts, equipment and common areas; assist in all ball and equipment changes
Required Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Four years of playing at a high level or tennis coaching experience
- The ideal candidate has competitive tennis playing experience and is PTR or USPTA certified
- High level of reliability, timeliness, energy and initiative
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate in a clear and succinct manner
- Ability to manage groups with varied abilities efficiently and effectively and to offer constructive feedback to participants
- Well-developed capacity to work effectively in a dynamic team setting with a diverse group of passionate people
Compensation and Benefits:
- Job Type: Part time & Full-time
- Annual Pay Range: $55,000 – $100,000 annually (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
