Grigor Dimitrov revealed what he said to Moutet after their Wimbledon match

After an engaging match on the lawns of Wimbledon, Grigor Dimitrov shared a glimpse into his lighthearted post-match exchange with opponent Corentin Moutet. Reflecting on the encounter, Dimitrov expressed a genuine appreciation for Moutet’s creativity on court, especially his finesse around the net.

“I was just telling him how crafty he is at the net,” Dimitrov remarked with admiration. “To some extent I actually like that a lot. I like that type of game at times.” Known for his own versatile style, Dimitrov seemed to relish the unpredictability Moutet brought to their match.

The Bulgarian former World No. 3 couldn’t help but laugh at one audacious moment: a lob via tweener—an unconventional shot played between the legs—which left Dimitrov both impressed and slightly exasperated. “Of course, lobbing me with a Tweener is no fun. But you gotta suck it up (image) ,” he joked.

Noting Moutet’s restraint with underarm serves—often a signature move in the Frenchman’s playbook—Dimitrov said, “I didn’t see many underarm serves, which is very unlike him. But I appreciate that. I’m gonna thank him later.”

Their spirited match showcased the charm and variety that Wimbledon can inspire, where flair and sportsmanship continue to thrive among tennis’s elite. Dimitrov’s gracious words added a touch of camaraderie to an already entertaining duel.
