‘Support your local non league club’ – Redditch United make a point that has been praised by many amid backlash to Aston Villa ticket prices.
Adult tickets for the match range from £58 to £92, with concessionary tickets for under-21s and over-66s starting at £41.50 and £44.
Prices are as high as £77 in central areas of the Holte End, behind the goal, and this comes after the club confirmed earlier in the summer that there will be a 5% increase of on matchday ticket prices, which has pushed the most expensive beyond the £80 mark for the first time.
Villa’s adult season tickets cost for 2025/26 meanwhile is between £672 and £992, with the cheapest under-14 ticket at £164 in Zone Four. A family season ticket package costs £1,615.
Redditch United tweeted: “A quick reminder you can get a season ticket (21 games) for £149, or spend £77 to sit in the Holte End for one game 😳
“Doesn’t have to be us, but support your local non league club.
“Why? You’ll be valued, be part of a community, beer on the terrace, no VAR & it’s cost-effective!

‘Simply shocking’ – Fans react as Aston Villa confirm matchday prices for Newcastle game
Fans echo ‘support your local non league club’ as Redditch make a point amid the backlash to the 25/26 Villa ticket prices…
@fusionjosh_: Non-League >>>
@mattitude_29: Uxbridge FC season tickets are £50!
@fusionjosh_: £2.38 a game…. you’re having me on, incredible! 😅
@LoveOfTheGround: Love this from Redditch. Top few levels of English football have been ruined. Switching to Worcester City made me fall back in love with following my team again. Truly think it’s time to show love to clubs that value every single fan. Top clubs couldn’t give a toss
@SibsMUFC: Clubs based near the PL giants have a huge opportunity the way things are going. Smart ones will take advantage.
@Kingwolf84: Fair play to Redditch for this…. Football away from the PL/EFL is far cheaper and far more fun…. Might not have all the “top” stars but as a fan you will be appreciated rather than exploited…. Football needs to take a long hard look at itself….
@matt_johnson_89: Plus it’s great entertainment for the whole family- you can even bring your dog!
@oliverCCFCrees: Even at Cardiff we’re only paying £300 for 23 games, £77 for a standard home ticket is diabolical and a shite reminder where the game is heading. If you’re genuinely 50/50 on what team to watch, go follow your local non league club you cannot fault £149 for 21 games 👏
@ad__ffc: breaking news: a more premium product costs more money than a cheaper alternative!
@joeproudley: Or 70 quid at forest! I’ll be getting mine again this season! #NonLeague
@JoeRoche1348094: Fair play, great tweet! 👏 support local #NonLeague
@Topliss94: Love this from @RedditchUtd there is nothing like supporting your local football club!! ⚽️🤝
@DannyHarkinJnr: I’ve been to 10 non league pre season friendlies this season, free entry in 9 of them and £7 in the other. Slowly falling out of love for the bigger leagues and loving non league. Better interaction with all teams. #NonLeague
@DerekJBeaver: The “Armed forces discount” at @AVFCOfficial is a joke. All PL fans need to tell theses clubs to fuck off and support their local non league club. They’re clubs that actually care about football and community unlike these investment wankers and overseas mercenaries.
@foreverayellow: sad thing is, prem clubs will always sell out no matter the price they set it at, it’s time fans boycotted, put their foot down, made a stance if they’re that disgusted by it. go watch non league, they need your support more than ever at the minute, the cost of living seeing clubs struggle. non league is miles better anyway, more a family feel. your money can massively help benefit your local side. make a difference. stop paying these ludicrous prices set by prem clubs, clearly not in the fans’ best interests. they don’t care about you. non league do, it’s proper, its for the fans.
