FourFourTwo predicts the 2025/26 League One table

The 2025/26 season is just around the corner, and with that in mind, we look to FourFourTwo who predicts the League One table.

We turn our attention to the third tier division, and as always, it causes plenty of reaction and debates on social media with many checking out the bookies odds.

Have a look at who they thought would finish from 24th to 1st below, some will surprise, others not so…

24) NORTHAMPTON

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 24th place (relegated) for the 2025/26 League One campaign.

25/26 FFT VERDICT: “After a solid start to Nolan’s tenure, the recruitment looks a mixed bag, and Northampton might regret not doing more to upgrade in goal.

“They’ll miss Costelloe at the sharp end and a struggle could await.”

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 21st place for the 2024/25 League One campaign – instead they finished 19th.

23) AFC WIMBLEDON

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 23rd place (relegated) for the 2025/26 League One campaign.

25/26 FFT VERDICT: “Early signings included Delano McCoy-Splatt (great name), but third tier pedigree is lacking and talented goalkeeper Owen Goodman has exited.

“Survival looks a tall order even with this well-organised, spirited group.”

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 10th place for the 2024/25 League Two campaign – instead they finished 5th.

22) PORT VALE

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 22nd place (relegated) for the 2025/26 League One campaign.

25/26 FFT VERDICT: Moore is very reliable when he has one of the better budgets in a division; his record without that advantage is far less convincing.

“Aside from a strong midfield, Vale’s squad needs improving in several areas.”

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 11th place for the 2024/25 League Two campaign – instead they finished 2nd.

21) EXETER

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 21st place (relegated) for the 2025/26 League One campaign.

25/26 FFT VERDICT: “Self-funded clubs may have a shelf life in a modern League One climate with no sympathy for sustainability.

“Ethan Brierley will add creativity but much has rested on re-signing star loanee keeper Joe Whitworth.”

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 20th place for the 2024/25 League One campaign – instead they finished 16th.

20) MANSFIELD

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 20th place for the 2025/26 League One campaign.

25/26 FFT VERDICT: “The Stags have rejuvenated an ageing squad with some smart signings, such as Roberts, Ryan Sweeney and Kyle McAdam, but they needed a great window just to stand still: their form from January was truly ugly.”

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 18th place for the 2024/25 League One campaign – instead they finished 17th.

19) BURTON

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 19th place for the 2025/26 League One campaign.

25/26 FFT VERDICT: “Burton hope the togetherness fostered by Bowyer can remain, having escaped the drop with top-10 form from January.”

“They will need a quieter summer and to hold on to Webster, Burrell and Udoka Godwin-Malife.”

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 14th place for the 2024/25 League One campaign – instead they finished 20th.

18) BRADFORD

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 18th place for the 2025/26 League One campaign.

25/26 FFT VERDICT: “Joe Wright and Josh Neufville join a core in Brad Halliday, Alex Pattioson, Sarcevic and Pointon that’s good enough for survival.

“For more than that, Smallwood – a destroyer and a playmaker in one – must be replaced well.”

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 6th place for the 2024/25 League Two campaign – instead they finished 3rd.

17) DONCASTER

The FourFourTwo magazine have predicted them to finish in 17th place for the 2025/26 League One campaign.

25/26 FFT VERDICT: “Survival looks certain after the League Two champions added a smattering of pedigree in Matty Pearson and Brandon Hanlan.

“If Molyneux can carry his output up a level, they could fly under the excellent Grant McCann.”

The FourFourTwo magazine predicted the club to finish in 2nd place for the 2024/25 League Two campaign – instead they finished as the winners.
