Major League Baseball released the schedule for the 2025 playoffs earlier today, with the first games of the postseason beginning on Tuesday, September 30th. It all leads to Game One of the World Series, which will be played on Friday, October 24th.
After the regular season concludes on September 28th, the Wild Card Series will run from September 30th to October 2nd, if necessary. From there, the NLDS and ALDS will begin on October 4th with four games and run through October 11th, with any necessary Game Fives scheduled for October 10th and 11th.
The Championship Series will follow a different schedule. Game One of the ALCS will be played on October 12th. Then, the NLCS will start on October 13th, with Game Two of the ALCS scheduled for the same day. Should the ALCS be decided in seven games, that contest will be played on October 20th. Meanwhile, a potential Game Seven in the NLCS will take place on October 21st.
Finally, the AL champions and the NL champions will have at least two days off before meeting for Game One of the World Series on October 24th. Following the 2-3-2 format, Games One and Two of the World Series will take place on October 24th and 25th. Games Three, Four, and Five (if necessary) will be held on October 27th, 28th, and 29th. Should the Fall Classic require a Game Six and/or Seven, those contests will be played on October 31st and November 1st, respectively.
