Inter suffered a shock 2-1 home defeat to Udinese, fumbling the Denzel Dumfries lead to a Keinan Davis penalty and Arthur Atta curler at a stunned San Siro.
The Nerazzurri had an ideal start to the campaign by crushing Torino 5-0, but it was now a full squad to choose from, with the return of Hakan Calhanoglu and Francesco Pio Esposito from suspension. The Friulani still missed banned Maduka Okoye, injured Matteo Palma and Daniele Padelli, but started Oumar Solet, who has been heavily linked with a move to San Siro.

Udinese gave Vakoun Bayo his first start and he almost capitalised on a counter-attack, drilling just wide from the edge of the box.
Inter replied from a Federico Dimarco corner kick, Alessandro Bastoni’s strike deflected into the arms of the goalkeeper.
The hosts broke the deadlock in slightly chaotic fashion, as Lautaro Martinez got away from Thomas Kristensen with a back-heel flick, then Dimarco found Marcus Thuram with his back to goal, the turn deflected into the path of Denzel Dumfries to tap in.
Atta ran into the box combining with Keinan Davis only to test Yann Sommer from the tightest of angles. Moments later, Bertola’s header back at the by-line was charged down by a wayward Dumfries arm and the penalty was inevitable following the VAR review. Davis converted with a stuttering run-up to draw Udinese level.
Solet impressed his potential future club with a decisive tackle in the box when Nicolò Barella sent Marcus Thuram clear.
Surprisingly, Udinese turned the game around to lead at San Siro, as Inter gave it away cheaply in midfield, allowing Atta to run at Yann Bisseck and bend a great right-foot finish into the far bottom corner.
There was a big chance straight after the restart with the searching Alessandro Bastoni ball from midfield to release Barella, but after the chest control, Solet threw himself in the way to prevent the finish.
Marcus Thuram’s header skimmed the crossbar from a Dimarco cross, while Calhanoglu smashed his effort just wide of the upright.
Inter managed to have the ball in the back of the net on 56 minutes when Thuram knocked down a Petar Sucic cross for the Dimarco daisy-cutter. However, Thuram was offside in the build-up and it was disallowed.
Udinese threatened a third goal on the counter with Davis, who shrugged off Sucic only to blast the finish wide. Cristian Chivu took a gamble to get back into the game with Pio Esposito leading a trident attack.
There was a mad scramble in the Friulani box on 69 minutes with a series of shots charged down, including the Dimarco volley and save on Thuram from six yards.
Pio Esposito as a centre-forward forced Solet into another desperate defensive interception, with the Carlos Augusto looping header cleared almost off the line, but the long siege failed to find a breakthrough.
Piotr Zielinski had two shots charged down in the same move, the second put out for a corner by Kristensen.
