Cremonese maintained their unbeaten record thanks to a Federico Baschirotto header, as 10-man Como found Nico Paz was not enough for three points.

While many expected the Lariani to start the season well, Cremonese were a surprise package, still unbeaten after two wins and two draws. Michele Collocolo sustained a thigh strain against Parma and will be out for a while, with Faris Moumbagna and Jamie Vardy not at 100 per cent, plus Emil Audero pulled out in the warm-up. Como got Jacobo Ramon back from suspension, missing Assane Diao and Ignace van der Brempt. They crushed Sassuolo 3-0 in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday.

See how it all unfolded on the Liveblog.

Federico Bonazzoli tried to surprise Jean Butez from practically the centre-circle when spotting the goalkeeper off his line, while Oliver Kuhn fired over from the edge of the area.

Sergi Roberto had a shot charged down, but injured his thigh in the process and went off injured.

Como did take the lead when Tasos Douvikas sent Jesus Rodriguez down the left to pull back from the by-line, finding Nico Paz to sweep home from 10 yards.

Jesus Rodriguez almost latched onto a weak Filippo Terracciano back-header to trouble Marco Silvestri, while Federico Baschirotto hit the side-netting.

Nico Paz forced a tricky fingertip save out of Silvestri after the restart, and Giuseppe Pezzella fired just over from Cremonese substitute Romano Floriani Mussolini’s cross.

The visitors were pushing and got their equaliser when a Franco Vasquez corner was flicked on to the back post for the Baschirotto header into the far bottom corner.

Como poured forward, Jesus Rodriguez turning over from the edge of the area, but the same player reduced them to 10 men with his pointless off the ball punch and kick on Filippo Terracciano, spotted by VAR.

Jayden Addai still threatened to win it for the hosts with a shot onto the side-netting, while Baschirotto struggled to stop Alvaro Morata running onto a long ball in stoppages and Floriani Mussolini turned just over on the half-volley.
