December 27th: Saturday’s Premier League Double – 3/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

SoccerNews Daily Double

While we might only have a single Premier League showdown pencilled in on Boxing Day, we are treated to a stacked festive schedule across Saturday.

With some season-defining showdowns from up and down the country, all of England’s elite will steal centre stage.

For those of you looking to stick on a festive flutter, we have taken a glance at some of Saturday’s most noteworthy Premier League betting tips.

15:00 Liverpool vs Wolves

While Liverpool might have found themselves at the heart of a record-breaking rut on either side of November’s international break, Arne Slot’s defending champions have certainly turned a recent corner. Last seen securing a 2-1 victory away at Tottenham, the former Feyenoord boss has eased plenty of the pressure on his shoulders and the Reds have won each of their previous three appearances across all competitions by an aggregate score of 5-1. Collecting a heavyweight Champions League scalp earlier in the month as they clinched a 1-0 win against Inter Milan, Liverpool are enjoying their most fruitful spell since the end of September. Opening Saturday’s showdown at Anfield with just their goal difference keeping them outside the Champions League spots, Slot’s resurgent squad will undoubtably be smelling a golden opportunity this weekend. With the red-hot Hugo Ekitike remarkably bagging five goals in his previous three Premier League outings, Liverpool will be looking to cash in on a Wolves defence who have continued to show a string of glaring issues.

Although Rob Edwards might have only arrived at Molineux last month, the former Middlesbrough boss is more than aware that he is searching for what would be an iconic Premier League miracle. Sat rock-bottom of the table and already with one-foot firmly in the Championship, the Old Gold have shattered a string of unwanted records this season. Last seen getting hit with a 2-0 loss at home against Brentford, Saturday’s guests have remarkably registered just two points from any of their 17 Premier League appearances this year. Travelling to Anfield this weekend already sat 16 points adrift of safety, Wolves are bracing themselves for what is another monumental challenge here. Falling to a 2-1 loss when they last travelled to Anfield for a Premier League showdown back in February, the Old Gold have lost all of their previous five consecutive meetings against Liverpool by an aggregate score of 11-3.

15:00 Brentford vs Bournemouth

Claiming what was a much-welcomed boost last weekend as they secured a 2-0 victory away at Wolves, Brentford will be desperate to find some festive stability. Drawing a line under their four-match winless rut against Premier League opposition, Keith Andrews’ men are sat within touching distance of finding a route into the top-half of the table. Hoping to secure consecutive Premier League wins for the first time since the end of October, the Bees will also be excited to make a return to the English capital this weekend. Along with claiming victories against the likes of Aston Villa, Newcastle and defending champions Liverpool, Andrews’ side have suffered just a sole defeat in front of their own supporters so far this season. In fact, Brentford have mustered 17 points from their eight Premier League showdowns at the Gtech and hold the fifth-best home return among England’s elite.

Suffering just a single defeat from any of their first nine Premier League appearances when opening up the 2025/26 campaign, it was no secret that Bournemouth had their sights firmly set on mounting a genuine European charge. However, suffering last-gasp heartbreak at home against relegation scrappers Burnley last time out as they eventually had to settle for a 1-1 stalemate at the Vitality, Andoni Iraola’s men suddenly find themselves at the heart of what has become an extended rut and they have shown some real issues on either side of November’s fortnight interval. Almost sat in Premier League limbo, Bournemouth have remarkably failed to win any of their previous eight consecutive showdowns against top-flight opposition (four defeats, four draws). Signing off November with an action-packed 3-2 loss at the hands of Premier League returners Sunderland, the Cherries could be set for another tricky test on their travels this weekend.
