Glasgow Rangers will be hoping that Danish winger Andreas Skov Olsen will be their next big star at Ibrox after his move to the club last week.
The 26-year-old star has joined on loan from Wolfsburg until the end of the season, with an option to make the deal permanent, and could make his debut against Dundee in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.
Skov Olsen was unveiled in front of the Ibrox crowd before the 5-0 win over Annan Athletic in the SFA Cup on Friday of last week, but he will not make his debut against Ludogorets next time out as they are unable to register him.
Danny Rohl is tasked with getting the best out of the left-footed star in the weeks and months to come, as his form for Club Brugge in the past suggests that he could explode as a superstar in Glasgow.
Rangers interested in another wing wizard
Skov Olsen may not be the last player to come through the door at Ibrox this month, though, as the Gers reportedly have more work to do in the next couple of weeks.
According to Rangers Review, Glasgow Rangers have not closed the door on making further additions to their squad before the end of the January transfer window.
Tuur Rommens, Tochi Chukwuani, and Andreas Skov Olsen have all been brought in as the first three signings of the Rohl era, but there may be more to come.
The report claims that the Gers have expressed an interest in signing DAC 1904 right winger Damir Redzic, who is reportedly valued at up to £4.3m, to bolster their options in the wide areas for the second half of the season and beyond.
It adds that the signing of Skov Olsen has put any deal for the 22-year-old attacker on the back burner for now, though, because he is also a left-footed right winger, and it remains to be seen whether they will make a move for him or wait until the summer.
Why Rangers should sign Damir Redzic
Given that they have looked at and are interested in signing the forward, Rangers should look to make a move for Redzic before the end of the January transfer window to avoid another team swooping in to secure his signature ahead of them.
If they decide to wait until the summer, another club could make a move in the last couple of weeks of this window and snap him up before the Gers get a chance, which is why they should move now.
The Light Blues should swoop for him now because he could be a Hamza Igamane repeat for the club, as another exciting young forward from a small market league.
Igamane was signed from Moroccan outfit FAR Rabat in the summer of 2024 under Philippe Clement, and went on to score 16 goals for the Gers before being sold for £10.4m to Lille.
Redzic could be a similar addition for Rangers because he is currently playing in the Slovakian league, which is not typically a big market for the club to shop in, as it is not one of Europe’s major leagues, but they could unearth a gem, as they did with the Morocco international.
The Hungarian youngster, who has been capped once by his country, has shown a lot of very promising signs with his form for his current club in Slovakia, and could be an exciting addition to the Gers squad.
RangersJournal’s Kai Watson described him as a “very direct” player who has “pace” and “flair” on the wing, and that is backed up by his statistics in the 1. Liga this season.

As you can see in the table above, Redzic has provided a big threat in the final third for his club, whilst also proving himself to be a direct winger with his ability to take on opposition defenders as a dribbler.
A return of one assist from 29 chances created also suggests that he has been let down by poor finishing from his teammates, which could make him an underrated player in the market because his assist numbers do not jump out at you, but there is potential for them to explode if paired with clinical finishers.
Igamane only scored seven goals in 20 matches during the 2023/24 campaign before his move to Ibrox, but the club saw his raw potential in a small market and hit the jackpot with him.
They could do the same with Redzic, who has shown big potential in his performances in Slovakia this season, which is why they should make a move for him as soon as possible.
Rohl could sign “dominant” star to finally end Djiga’s Rangers career
Glasgow Rangers could end Nasser Djiga’s spell at the club by signing this star this month.
