Watch- Babar Azam manhandled in West Indies

Babar Azam, Pakistan National Cricket Team star, has made a mockery of himself, and the pressure of going through the rough patch was clear in his batting as he yet again failed miserably in the final game of his team’s Caribbean tour.

The former Pakistan captain has already been going through poor form, but the way he has been batting, it is just bizarre and a joke. In the third and final ODI, Babar Azam was dismissed for nine runs off 23 balls against the West Indies at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba on August 12.

Babar Azam’s form hits new low in 3rd ODI vs West Indies

Jayden Seales trapped Babar in front of the stumps with a sharp delivery. Babar moved across the crease but missed the ball completely, and it hit him right in front of his middle and leg. The on-field umpire gave him out straight away, but Azam took the review, which showed there was no bat involved.

However, the ball-tracking confirmed the original decision, showing the ball clipping the leg stump. It was a close call, but to the naked eye, it was a fair LBW call. After the third umpire’s decision, Babar couldn’t believe what he had done and started walking off the field.

Babar Azam’s nightmare has continued since 2023

The right-handed batter finished the three-match ODI series with just 56 runs at an average of over 18 and a strike rate of 62. Babar Azam has gone through 72 international innings without scoring a century. His last hundred came against Nepal in the Asia Cup 2023.

Since 2023, no other player has gone longer without making a century than Babar Azam. Even since 2024, the Pakistani batter and his teammate Mohammad Rizwan are the only two top-level players with a strike rate below 80. Now, things got tougher for Babar and Pakistan.

The Men in Green suffered an embarrassing defeat of a massive 202 runs in the third and final ODI, losing a bilateral ODI series to the West Indies for the first time in 34 years.

The ongoing poor form of Babar has made many question and mock his performance for the past couple of years.

WI vs PAK 3rd ODI Match Highlight

Meanwhile, after losing the T20I series, the West Indies bounced back in style to win the ODI series 2-1 against Pakistan at home. In the series decider, Pakistan never looked in control, especially once Jayden Seales got the ball early on.

He tore through the top order with four wickets in his opening spell and later returned to wrap things up with two more wickets.

Earlier, the West Indies captain Shai Hope played a composed yet commanding knock of 120* runs off 94 balls to help his team to post 294 runs on the board.

This total proved far too much for Pakistan, as they bowled out for just 92 runs inside 30 overs. Salman Ali Agha was the top scorer for the tourists with 30 runs, followed by Mohammad Nawaz (23*).

Mohammad Rizwan credits Shai Hope and Jayden Seales for Pakistan’s embarrassment

After the embarrassing defeat, Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan said, “The momentum in the last 10 overs took it away, as we were on top for the first 40 overs. We thought 220 was chaseable here.”

“The credit goes to them. Credit to Hope. The execution was good, but the edges went in their favor. Hope batted well and played some good shots. Seales was bowling well. He troubled us through the series. We needed partnerships and needed to spend some time.”
