On Tuesday, August 19, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officially announced the squad of the India Women’s National Cricket Team for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.
Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the India Women’s National Cricket Team in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, and Smriti Mandhana will serve as her deputy.

ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 will be the 13th edition of the Women’s Cricket World Cup, and it will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. India are hosting the Women’s World Cup for the fourth time, and it’s the first such instance for Sri Lanka.

The marquee tournament is all set to start on September 30, with the final being scheduled for November 2. ICC allotted the Women’s World Cup matches to five cities across the two countries – Bengaluru, Vizag, Indore, Guwahati, and Colombo.
However, the matches at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru are in doubt due to the stampede tragedy that happened following RCB’s IPL 2025 triumph.
Talking about the India Women’s team, they will he aiming to end their title drought and clinch their first World Cup trophy this time around. The recent performances of the Women In Blue have been quite great in 50-over cricket.
Since the start of 2025, they have won 9 out of 11 ODIs and will enter the competition as one of the hot favorites. Their most recent series victory came when they crushed England 2-1 in their own backyard.
The Harmanpreet Kaur-led squad consists of the top batters like Smriti Mandhana, Pratika Rawal, Harleen Deol, and Jemimah Rodrigues, while Richa Ghosh will be India’s first-choice wicketkeeper. In the bowling department, India have got the likes of Deepti Sharma, who can also make good contributions with the bat, Sneh Rana, Arundhati Reddy, and Renuka Singh Thakur.
