Abhishek once again launched a brutal attack on the bowlers in the powerplay itself and took the India National Cricket Team off to a flying start.

He reached the half-century milestone off just 22 balls and was in no mood to stop after that. The opener kept hitting and eventually fell to Charith Asalanka in the 9th over of the innings.

On the fourth ball of the 9th over, Abhishek pulled a short delivery from Charith Asalanka and wasn’t able to middle it with the bat.

The ball went towards the deep mid-wicket, where Kamindu Mendis stationed himself on the edge of the rope and took a good catch safely to send back Abhishek Sharma.

The Indian opener was quite furious with himself despite smashing a sensational 61 runs off 31 balls, with eight fours and two sixes.
