Shreyas Iyer’s family lands in Australia, condition revealed

India’s ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer is recovering in Sydney after suffering a ruptured spleen and rib cage injury during the third and final ODI against Australia on October 25. Shreyas Iyer injured his spleen and rib cage while diving forward to take a tough catch to dismiss Alex Carey.

Initially, it looked like a simple rib bruise, but scans confirmed that the 30-year-old cricketer suffered a grade-two spleen tear that caused internal bleeding. Iyer was rushed to St. Vincent’s Hospital, where doctors and the Indian medical staff acted quickly to stabilize him.

Shreyas Iyer’s condition was reportedly critical for a few hours as his blood pressure dropped sharply, but timely intervention saved him. The stylish batter underwent a special medical procedure called “interventional trans-catheter embolization” to control the internal bleeding from his injury.

Meanwhile, the Indian middle-order batter’s family reached Sydney on Friday, October 31, to be by his side as he recovers from his injury. His sister Shresta Iyer confirmed their arrival by sharing an Instagram story showing she is in Sydney. Iyer is currently under medical care.

Shresta shared a story featuring their puppy without any caption, but her post had mention of Telstra, which is one of Australia’s biggest telecommunications companies. Telstra offers mobile, internet, and home phone services to both individuals and businesses across the country.

Stars behind Shreyas Iyer’s life-threatening injury

On the other hand, famous astrologer Greenstone Lobo has given a unique twist to Shreyas Iyer’s recent health scare. He claimed that his life-threatening injury was part of the planetary movements rather than just a misfortune on the field.

Lobo suggested that Iyer’s birth chart reveals that this painful phase was destined, but the worst is now over. The sports astrologer explained that a weak Jupiter in Iyer’s ascendant, which influences the body, became active as the planet gained strength in his ninth house, which is tied to foreign lands, and that’s why the incident happened in Australia.

Despite the alarming nature of Iyer’s injury, Lobo called it a temporary setback rather than a long-term problem. He described the Sydney accident as a passing “karmic phase,” suggesting that the bad luck has finally gone. Lobo predicts that there will be no hurdle in Iyer’s recovery.

Shreyas Iyer’s best years are still ahead: Astrologer Greenstone Lobo

The astrologer also noted that Pluto’s movement through Iyer’s third house, which governs the mind and focus, may have caused emotional turbulence in recent months. However, this difficult period is now over, and the Indian cricketer is ready for renewed strength and success ahead.

Greenstone Lobo was quoted as saying by the Times of India: “He will bounce back quickly, possibly by the IPL. This injury won’t affect his skills, focus, or leadership in any way. In fact, he’ll play a major role for India in the 2027 World Cup. Shreyas’ best years are still ahead.”

Greenstone Lobo’s recent predictions stun fans

Interestingly, Lobo had predicted India’s victory in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as well as RCB’s historic IPL 2025 success. And most recently, Lobo had suggested that this is the best chance for the India Women to beat Australia in the semifinal and go on to lift the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup 2025.

And India already crushed Australia in the semifinals on Thursday to storm into the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 finals. Even Lobo had called Shubman Gill’s appointment as India’s ODI captain the second-best thing to happen to Indian cricket.
