The clip was recorded after Dhoni attended Salman Khan’s 60th birthday celebration at his farmhouse in Panvel, where photographers crowded around his vehicle.
Dhoni was among the select guests who attended Khan’s birthday celebration. The event was kept to close friends rather than being a public party. Several film and television personalities were also present, including Karisma Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Genelia Deshmukh, and Rakul Preet Singh, among others.

In one of the clips, a packet of cigarettes was seen inside the car. Dhoni was sitting in the car along with his wife, Sakshi Dhoni, and another person, while the packet appeared to be placed on the armrest of the back seat.
The video led to online talk and rumours about whether the cigarettes belonged to Dhoni. Fans and social media users began debating the clip soon after it surfaced.

Former Chennai Super Kings opener and batting coach Michael Hussey recently spoke about it during a podcast. Hussey, who spent six seasons with CSK and won two IPL titles, said that shisha was common during the IPL season.
“Dhoni is just the most amazing guy, his room is available open 24 hours a day. So, anyone can go up there and just sit. He has got his lounge room, players just sit around, they start talking cricket, some of them like the ‘shisha’, you know, the flavoured tobacco stuff” he said on The Overlap Cricket last month.
MS Dhoni to Play for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2026

MS Dhoni will return for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season after being retained by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ahead of the auction. CSK retained Dhoni for ₹4 crore under the uncapped player category ahead of the upcoming season.
In the 2025 season, Dhoni was forced to take over captaincy after Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out due to injury after the opening matches. However, CSK struggled badly and finished last on the points table.
Dhoni scored 196 runs in 13 innings at an average of 24.50 and a strike rate of 125.17. With new signings like Sanju Samson and Kartik Sharma added to the squad, it remains unclear how many matches Dhoni will play in IPL 2026.
