The BCCI has finally scheduled the India tour of Bangladesh after talks with the BCB following the postponement of the tour in 2025. This might mark Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s last game in the country.
Last year, during August, when political tensions were high in Bangladesh, and the Indian officials felt the conditions to be threatening for the Indian players, they postponed the tour. However, both boards had then revealed that due to other international commitments and a packed schedule.
The series, which was supposed to mark the return of Indian greats like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, now might give them an added opportunity to excel under pressure ahead of the ICC World Cup 2027.

Indian masses go anti-Bangladesh after the atrocities against Hindus in the country
The relations between the two neighbouring nations, which were once considered friendly as the two nations shared a warfront, businesses, and even water from a shared territory, have now been transformed into a strained relationship of brutality, violation, and intolerance.
Ever since the former Bangladesh government was sidelined and the new interim government of Bangladesh took over, the brutality against Hindus living in the country has increased beyond imagination, and the government seems to be supporting this kind of religious intolerance.
Hindus have been brutally murdered, their houses have been set on fire, and properties and businesses have been vandalized. These developments have also led to an anti-Bangladesh campaign among the Indian masses, who have demanded a ban on Bangladesh players in the IPL.
In short, the Indian masses demand a Pakistan-like treatment of Bangladesh, and if such circumstances arise, then this tour might also be compromised.
BCB’s packed international calendar for 2026
Other than hosting India for the white-ball series in the September window, Bangladesh will be hosting a number of international giants this year. Pakistan, New Zealand, Australia, and the West Indies will all play their matches in the nation.
Bangladesh will host Pakistan for three ODIs in March and then the Kiwis for a three-match ODI and T20I series from the 17th of April to the 2nd of May. Following this, Pakistan would return to Bangladesh for a Test series, followed by Australia for a similar white-ball series as the Kiwis.
After their series against India in September, Bangladesh will host the West Indies for a two-match Test series, which is a part of their WTC campaign.
