T20 World Cup 2026 Schedule, Groups, & Venues: Full List

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is set to be one of the most significant events in cricket history. Co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, this tenth edition of the tournament promises high-octane action as 20 teams battle for the ultimate crown in the shortest format of the game.

The 2026 T20 World Cup marks a return to the cricket-crazy subcontinent, a decade after India last hosted the event in 2016. This tournament is massive in scale, featuring 20 teams and 55 matches. With the unique conditions of slow, turning tracks in Sri Lanka and high-scoring “belters” in India, teams will need extraordinary versatility to succeed.

Fans following the tournament closely may also come across promotions and match-day offers such as the Fun88 Welcome Bonus, which are often advertised during major ICC events.

In this article, we’ve broken down the groups, the full schedule, the format changes, and a detailed look at the venues across both host nations.

  • Super 8s: The top two teams from each group advance to the Super 8 stage. These 8 teams are split into two groups of four.+1
  • Knockouts: The top two teams from each Super 8 group qualify for the Semi-Finals.
  • The Final: The winners of the Semi-Finals meet on March 8 to decide the world champion.

Note on Pakistan: Due to diplomatic considerations, all matches involving Pakistan will be held in Sri Lanka. If Pakistan reaches the Semi-Finals or Final, those specific matches will also be moved to Colombo.

T20 World Cup 2026 Venues

India Venues

  1. Narendra Modi Stadium (Ahmedabad): The world’s largest stadium. Usually offers a balanced track with a slight advantage for pacers under lights.
  2. Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai): A batting paradise with short boundaries. High-scoring chases are common here.
  3. Eden Gardens (Kolkata): Known for its spin-friendly nature in the middle overs and a lightning-fast outfield.
  4. M.A. Chidambaram (Chennai): The ultimate “spinner’s cave.” Expect low-scoring, tactical battles.
  5. Arun Jaitley Stadium (Delhi): Recently renovated pitches have turned this into a high-scoring ground.

Sri Lanka Venues

  1. R. Premadasa Stadium (Colombo): The main hub in Sri Lanka. It offers grip for spinners but favors batters who can play through the line.
  2. Pallekele International Stadium (Kandy): Often sees some early swing and seam due to the cooler climate and evening dew.
  3. SSC Ground (Colombo): A historic venue with a flat deck, perfect for daytime matches.
