England sweats on Ben Stokes injury ahead of day 2 at Lord’s against India

England will start the second day of the third Test against India at Lord’s with worries about captain Ben Stokes’ fitness. Stokes seemed to hurt his groin late on Thursday. He got treatment on the field but kept batting until the end of the day. England was at 251-4 when play stopped, with Joe Root at 99 not out and Stokes, who won the coin toss, at 39 not out.

Stokes, 34, has had many injuries, including a knee problem that needed surgery in 2023. He has also had two bad hamstring tears in the last eight months. Lately, he has been able to play as an all-rounder in games, which is good news. Before, his fitness limited his ability as a bowler.

Stokes is very important to the tea…
Nitish Reddy talks about this advice of Pat Cummins after his phenomenal bowling display.

Nitish Kumar Reddy used his IPL contacts to prepare for his first Test tour of England. Reddy, an all-rounder, didn’t do so well with the ball during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy tour in Australia. Knowing he needed to improve to keep his place on the team for the England tour, Reddy asked his Sunrisers Hyderabad captain, Pat Cummins, for advice about English conditions. Cummins told him that the weather plays a big part in England.

“I just asked him (Pat Cummins, his captain at Sunrisers Hyderabad) what’s the difference between Australia and England since this is my first tour and he said that it’s not going to be like a change but you watch about the weather condition…

Joe Root breaks this elusive record of Sir Graham Gooch in Lord’s test.

Joe Root, the star batter from England, now holds the record for the most international runs scored at Lord’s, surpassing the 31-year record held by Graham Gooch. Gooch, another England great, scored 2513 runs at this well-known ground.

Root achieved this feat during the third Test against India in their five-match series. He overtook Gooch on Day 1 of the match, with an impressive innings of 99 not out.

To date, Root has played 33 matches at Lord’s, amassing 2526 runs with an average of 54.91. His record at the stadium includes 8 centuries and 10 half-centuries in international games. These statistics are expected to change as he continues to bat on Day 2 of the Test, where he might …
Kumar Sangakkara drops a massive advice for Ollie Pope after his dismissal in Lord’s test.

Harry Brook is facing scrutiny after being bowled out again, this time by Jasprit Bumrah on day one of the Lord’s Test versus India. Brook came in at 153-3 after Ollie Pope’s slow-paced 44 off 104 balls. He only scored 11 runs before Bumrah’s seaming ball cut back from outside off and hit his off stump.

This is becoming a familiar issue for the young England player, who was dismissed by similar balls at Edgbaston. In the second Test, Akash Deep bowled Brook in the first innings and got him lbw in the second, both times using the inward movement.

During the Lord’s Test, Kumar Sangakkara shared his thoughts on Brook’s technique and suggested a change in his stance.

Gautam Gambhir breaks silence on BCCI family rule policy.

Gautam Gambhir, the Indian cricket team’s head coach, recently addressed the BCCI’s policy about families joining cricketers on overseas tours.

After India’s Test series loss to Australia, the BCCI put in place rules that restricted the amount of time players could spend with their families during foreign tours. The policy allowed families to be with players for 14 days during tournaments lasting 45 days or more. Virat Kohli openly voiced his disapproval of the rule.

In a conversation with Cheteshwar Pujara, Gambhir stated that players need to remember they’re not on vacation when playing abroad. He acknowledged the importance of family support but emphasized that the players’ main priority should …
