It’s been an eventful and unpredictable field hockey season here at TopOfTheCircle.com. You have had a preseason Top 10 bounce back from an unexpected midseason defeat, a cadre of private-school teams all beating each other, and more teams which have won their first major trophies this season, whether a sectional or a state final.
Leading the line in our Top 10 is a dominant, skilled, and smart Uxbridge (Mass.) side which not only won its fifth straight state championship, but won each and every game on its schedule by at least three. Too, the Spartans beat all three 2024 state champions (Andover, Watertown, and Somerset-Berkeley) by a combined score of 18-1. That is a performance which is worthy of the likes of Voorhees Eastern (N.J.) during that team’s glory years.
I invite you to watch some of Uxbridge’s work, especially, the semifinal game against Watertown (and if you don’t yet have the NFHS Network, you should). In that game, the team doesn’t just pass and shoot the ball, they craft possessions, plays, and goals. They’re that good.
This is the last Top 10 of the regular season; this will form the basis of our final Top 50 which will be published in December. The Top 10 here are not guaranteed to be in the same order in the Top 50.
This week’s honorary RightToRightIsRight.com No. 11 Team of the Week is Husson College. The Eagles, coached by Kaitlin Dolloff, won the 2025 ECAC Championship with a 4-1 win over Goucher College. It is the program’s first major trophy since the program began in 1997.
