Teahouse in Stanley Park Restaurant Review

There’s something timeless about the Teahouse in Stanley Park. Few places in Vancouver offer the same romantic coastal charm. A Vancouver icon since 1978, this forest-fringed gem has been the setting for countless special moments — weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and sometimes, just a really great Thursday lunch with a friend.

Settle into the sun-soaked patio and take in sweeping views of English Bay, North Shore Mountains and sailboats. Surrounded by towering cedars and sea breezes, the Teahouse’s sun-drenched patio is a sanctuary. It’s the kind of place where time slows down and everything just feels right. It’s West Coast serenity at its best.

A Three-Course Lunch That Delivers

We visited for their $55 three-course lunch (available on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays), and every dish impressed us.

Starters:

  • Teahouse Stuffed Mushrooms – crab, shrimp, and cream cheese nestled in roasted caps, served with lemon emulsion on arugula. A longtime local favourite.
  • Teahouse Salad – fresh, crisp layers of pickled fennel, shaved carrots, watermelon radish, and orange segments, finished with a citrus vinaigrette and crunchy seeds.

Mains:

  • Sablefish – perfectly cooked, served with a lemon risotto cake, charred broccolini, and a delicate lemon caper butter (available for additional $10).
  • Brome Lake Duck Confit – rich and flavourful with a truffled mushroom croquette and fig demi-glace.

Cocktail Features and Desserts

When we went, there were three featured cocktails.  We tried two of them and were equally impressed with the complex layers.

  • Spicy Mango Margarita $16.
  • Refreshing Lavender Haze cocktails $17.

  • Lemon Tart – zesty, smooth, and topped with a candied lemon curl.
  • Torta Milano – chocolate mascarpone mousse layered on an almond wafer crust — rich, but never too heavy.

To top it off, Executive Chef Regan D’Silva gave us a sneak preview of his latest creation: Ice Lemon Pie — lemon custard, vanilla gelato, pecan crust, and toasted meringue. It was sunshine in dessert form.

Wine Hour with a View

An insider favourite: Wine Hour at the Teahouse, offered Monday, Thursday & Friday from 2:30–5:00 pm.

  • $15 wine flights with curated local & international selections
  • $12 tasting boards like BC cheese, edamame hummus, or tomato bruschetta

Even though we didn’t have time to try Wine Hour this visit, it’s high on our list for next time — especially with that ocean breeze on the patio.

This restaurant continues to charm for all the right reasons:
