By leveraging Starlink’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite technology, PLDT Enterprise aims to support businesses in underserved and hard-to-reach locations. This innovative solution enhances productivity, supports operations, and promotes growth for companies that have historically faced challenges with limited connectivity.
Integrating Starlink is part of PLDT Enterprise’s broader commitment, under its parent company PLDT, to expand digital access across the country. The high-speed, low-latency service provided by Starlink complements PLDT Enterprise’s existing offerings, which include fiber, wireless, and managed services, ensuring improved coverage and performance across various industries.
“Through the integration of Starlink, we are extending the reach and resilience of our connectivity solutions, especially in areas where traditional infrastructure is limited,” said Mitch Locsin, First Vice President and Head of Enterprise Core Business at PLDT and Smart. “This advancement reinforces our dedication to empowering enterprises to operate with greater agility, drive innovation, and accelerate their digital transformation, wherever they are in the country.”
A Commitment to Empowering the Nation with Future-Ready Solutions
Starlink’s satellite internet is particularly beneficial for industries in remote or underserved areas, as well as for those needing backup connectivity. Key sectors that stand to gain include logistics, banking, agriculture, disaster response, and essential services like education and healthcare. Additionally, mobile industries, such as transport hubs requiring internet access while in transit or in locations with limited connectivity, will also benefit from Starlink’s expansive network coverage.
“Starlink adds another layer of reliability to our connectivity solutions. Since it can route traffic to other gateways found in other locations, it can keep businesses connected even during local terrestrial outages. This makes it especially valuable for customers whose uninterrupted internet connection is mission critical,” said Nico Alcoseba, First Vice President and Head of Product Management and Global Capacity Strategy at PLDT Enterprise.
By incorporating Starlink’s LEO satellite technology, PLDT Enterprise enhances its suite of end-to-end connectivity solutions, catering to diverse environments and operational needs. Their offerings include transformative solutions such as Managed SD-WAN, Internet of Things (IoT), data centers, cybersecurity, and more.
This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by supporting digital infrastructure, fostering economic growth, and promoting inclusive development. Through widespread internet access, PLDT Enterprise and Starlink address connectivity challenges while enabling long-term sustainability and innovation for businesses and communities.
With the addition of Starlink’s LEO satellites to PLDT’s existing technologies such as Fiber and 5G, businesses of all sizes can now access reliable, high-speed internet, even in previously unreachable areas. This advancement leads to improved efficiency, enhanced customer experiences, and greater access to global opportunities.
This initiative goes beyond a mere technological upgrade; it underscores the PLDT Group’s commitment to nation-building and digital empowerment across various communities and industries.
