What would you do with 100,000 Citi ThankYou Rewards points?
That question could inspire brainstorms of dream trips to fantastic destinations like Hawaii, France or Japan.
Plus, now is a great time to start thinking about earning ThankYou Rewards points. With the Citi Strata Eliteâ„ Card (see rates and fees), new cardholders can earn 100,000 bonus points after spending $6,000 in the first three months from account opening.
TPG’s October 2025 valuations deem ThankYou Rewards points as worth 1.9 cents apiece, making this bonus worth $1,900. There are many ways to reach that value — or even exceed it — by transferring those points to Citi’s valuable loyalty program partners.
When transferring Citi points, you must hold a premium Citi card, such as the Citi Strata Elite, the Citi Prestige® Card (no longer available to applications) or the Citi Strata Premier® Card (see rates and fees), to unlock the full transfer ratios discussed here. You can transfer ThankYou Rewards points to partners with other Citi cards, but ratios will vary.
The information for the Citi Prestige Card has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

You can fly multiple American Airlines routes across the country one-way in economy for 10,500 American Airlines AAdvantage miles or less. For 2026, I found availability to fly from:

16 one-way economy flights to London via Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
You can transfer 6,000 ThankYou Rewards points to Flying Club at a 1:1 rate and fly to London’s Heathrow Airport (LHR) from multiple U.S. airports, including Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), JFK and Dulles International Airport (IAD) near Washington, D.C.

With 100,000 points, you could make this redemption 16 times — and still have 4,000 points left over. Note that Flying Club imposes high surcharges and return flights from London to the U.S. will incur the U.K.’s Air Passenger Duty charge.

2 one-way business-class flights to Colombia via Avianca LifeMiles
You can kick off a trip to Colombia in business-class luxury when you transfer your ThankYou Rewards points to Avianca LifeMiles.
Since they transfer at a 1:1 ratio, you could use 46,450 points for one business-class seat from MIA to Bogota, Colombia’s El Dorado International Airport (BOG).

At this rate, you can use 100,000 points to purchase two business-class seats and bring a companion along with you.

2 one-way Condor business-class flights to Germany via JetBlue TrueBlue
You can transfer ThankYou Rewards points to JetBlue TrueBlue to book Condor business-class flights to Frankfurt Airport (FRA). This is one of TPG’s favorite sweet spots right now.
You can find availability starting at 54,000 points from multiple destinations, including BOS and Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ). ThankYou Rewards points transfer to TrueBlue at a 1:1 ratio.

You will need more than 100,000 points to book two seats for 108,000 points. However, that can be just within reach if you’re hoping to meet the minimum spending requirement on the Citi Strata Elite to earn the 100,000-point welcome bonus anyway.

For 60,000 miles (transferred at a 1:1 ratio from Citi to Air France-KLM Flying Blue), you can book tickets to Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). There’s availability from multiple U.S. airports, such as BOS, IAH, JFK and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).

Like with the previous redemption, if you were to book two seats, you would actually need to move 120,000 points to Flying Blue.

1 one-way business-class flight to Abu Dhabi via Etihad Guest
You can also use 100,000 ThankYou Rewards points to contribute to the majority of a stylish Etihad business-class redemption for flights to Abu Dhabi. You’ll be able to transfer ThankYou Rewards points to Etihad Guest at a 1:1 ratio.
We’ve found availability from 120,000 points to fly to Zayed International Airport (AUH) from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), BOS and IAD.

While you may have to put some additional spending on the Citi Strata Elite to reach the 120,000 points required for this redemption, it’s certainly made more possible with the Strata Elite’s current bonus-earning categories.

1 one-way business-class flight to Tokyo via American Airlines AAdvantage
You can fly nonstop on American Airlines to Japan with 122,500 Citi points, transferred at a 1:1 ratio to AAdvantage.
This route flies from LAX to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport (HND) in business class.

Like some previously mentioned redemptions, this booking would technically cost more than 100,000 ThankYou Rewards points. However, the additional 22,500 points needed to redeem for this flight may not be as difficult to accumulate with spending on your Citi Strata Elite Card.

3 nights at Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek
Citi’s hotel partners may not be at the top of your radar, but if you want to save on your out-of-pocket cost, this is an option. For example, you could book a three-night stay at Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek, a Wyndham property near Disney World that charges 30,000 points per night.
If a one-night stay at this resort costs $441, you’d get a value of about 1.47 cents per point for this redemption. While it is below TPG’s Citi ThankYou Rewards points valuation of 1.9 cents apiece (as of October 2025), this redemption can still help you save money, especially if you use your points to book a three-night hotel stay instead of paying cash.

For Disney enthusiasts, a redemption like this can help immensely when trying to save on a Disney family vacation.

8 nights at the Hotel Aquarius Venice, an Ascent Collection Hotel in Italy
If you like booking with Choice hotels, you may want to leverage the advantageous 1:2 transfer ratio that you’ll get for moving ThankYou Rewards points to Choice Privileges.
For instance, you could stay eight nights at the Hotel Aquarius Venice in Italy with this 100,000-point bonus. That’s because 100,000 ThankYou Rewards points become 200,000 Choice points — and you can book eight nights at this property for 192,000 Choice points.

With room rates upward of $540 a night during the peak summer months, this could be a great redemption for some travelers.

How I find award redemptions
When searching for flights, I recommend checking Seats.aero. You can find award availability across multiple programs that partner with Citi, including AAdvantage, and search for multiple routes to find exactly what you’re looking for.
Redemptions with airline partners are some of the best ways to get outsize value from your ThankYou Rewards points. While it sometimes may be harder to maximize your Citi points with hotel transfer partners, there are some sweet spots.
But before you transfer your points, always compare the cash rate versus the points rate. If you want to maximize your points, it may be worth it to book the cash rate and save your points for another redemption. Additionally, point redemptions are irreversible, so make sure you confirm award availability before blindly transferring your rewards.
However, at the end of the day, the best redemption is one that works for you. So, think of your wildest travel dreams and run some searches to see how 100,000 ThankYou Rewards points can get you there.
