These individuals or entities are suspected of using stolen or fraudulently obtained credit cards to purchase airline tickets, which are then resold to unsuspecting customers. Such schemes can lead to serious consequences for affected passengers, including cancelled flights, denied boarding, or ticket invalidation once the fraud is detected.

To further strengthen its response, Cebu Pacific is also coordinating with key government agencies and regulatory authorities, such as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB). Together, they are developing and implementing measures to curb these illegal activities and enhance consumer protection. This includes sharing information, improving monitoring mechanisms, and conducting public information campaigns.
Through these efforts, Cebu Pacific is strongly advising the public to exercise caution and avoid booking flights through unauthorized channels, including unverified online platforms, informal agents, and social media-based sellers. The airline stresses that tickets should be purchased only through its official website, mobile application, ticket offices, or accredited travel agencies to ensure the security, validity, and reliability of bookings.
Cebu Pacific has cancelled multiple flight bookings made with fraudulent or stolen credit cards, as confirmed by its partner banks. An internal investigation found that specific individuals used compromised credit card details to buy Cebu Pacific flights and then converted these tickets into Travel Funds under different booking profiles. These Travel Funds were later used to illegally resell flights through unverified third parties and other unauthorized channels.
To prevent further misuse of stolen financial information and protect legitimate cardholders and passengers, Cebu Pacific has identified and cancelled the affected bookings. The airline is coordinating with its partner banks and relevant authorities as part of an ongoing investigation into these fraudulent activities.
Passengers whose bookings were cancelled have been notified through their registered email addresses and mobile numbers. Those who wish to proceed with their travel plans are advised to book new flights only through official Cebu Pacific channels—such as www.cebupacificair.com, the official mobile app, or accredited ticketing partners—using a valid and authorized form of payment.
Cebu Pacific also urges the public to avoid buying tickets or Travel Funds from suspicious, unverified, or unofficial sources, and encourages customers to report any suspected fraudulent activity involving Cebu Pacific bookings to both the airline and their respective banks.
