The year could not be going much better for ARMA Reforger. After a hit console release that saw the player count skyrocket to an all-time high, Bohemia Interactive’s current-gen tactical shooter followed up by finally letting PlayStation 5 players mod their game.
Considering the game’s previous big updates came out in May and March before that, there is imminent speculation about what the next ARMA Reforger update could bring, and the developers have not been shy about torturing players with teasers.
Here are all of the hints that have been identified since Bohemia decided to send us all on a wild goose chase. Naturally, we’ll only know whether these guesses are right when the update drops, which should be within a month if previous release timelines are anything to go by.
ARMA Reforger Teaser #1
How about a lovely picnic by the ocean to start the day? The first teaser went up on July 4th, and shows the interior of a UAZ-469. Here’s what we have so far:
1. A New Map
Based on the compass lying on the backseat of the car, the image is facing southeast. The coastline runs southwest-northeast, with a lighthouse visible on the corner of the photo. In the current maps, only the Beauregard lighthouse in Arland is located on a similarly oriented shore, but a quick glance in-game will show you that the hill in the photo is much too steep, and the lighthouse’s paint scheme does not match.
Although I could not find that specific lighthouse, the coastline and elevation seem to match the Kolgujev map from the 2001 game ARMA: Cold War Assault (formerly Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis). Late last year, Bohemia confirmed the map would be added to ARMA Reforger, making it the most likely candidate.
2. Soviet Rocket Launchers
The driver’s seat features a triple-stack of boom tubes. At a glance, they look like Soviet RPG-22 anti-tank rocket launchers. Functionally similar to the American M72 LAW already in the game, this is a light, disposable weapon that fires a high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) rocket. Nothing has been said about the balancing yet, but it would be good to have an accessible single-shot alternative, leaving the RPG-7 to higher ranks.
ARMA Reforger Teaser #2
The second teaser for the next ARMA Reforger update shows an American soldier sending lead downrange from the back of a moving truck, and it went up on July 8th.
1. Tiger Stripe Camouflage
Once upon a time, before airsoft nerds with multicam fits and high-cut helmets swarmed fields around the world, tiger stripe camo was the epitome of cool. If you ask me, it still is; people just have worse taste now, but I digress. The soldier in the image is wearing a BDU blouse and a boonie hat sporting the American tiger stripe pattern.

2. Shooting from Vehicles
Ah, the drive-by. A classic made popular by Ukrainian anarchist Nestor Makhno, and a staple of organized crime murders around the world. Right now, you ride vehicles in ARMA Reforger with your arms crossed, hoping that nobody shoots at you while you ride around. Judging by the image, you’ll finally be able to fight back if someone takes issue with your morning commute.
I’m ashamed to admit I spent way too much time looking into the rifle to see if it might actually be an M14, but everything indicates it’s just your usual M21 SWS. I’d love to be proven wrong here.
ARMA Reforger Teaser #3
At a glance, the (so far) final teaser posted for the next ARMA Reforger update has a single hint, but it’s quite the explosive one.
1. Anti-Personnel Mines
Just writing about this sends shivers down my spine, but it looks like anti-personnel landmines are finally coming to ARMA Reforger. The bane of pointmen all over the globe, the raison d’être for good sappers, and one of the best tools to defend an objective from a superior enemy force.
The mine shown in the teaser looks like the American M14, ‘affectionately’ known as the toe-popper. You can figure out why yourself. These little devils are hard to spot in general, but become nearly invisible in the dark or around vegetation. It’s not clear whether the M14 will come alone or if it will get a Soviet counterpart, like the PMN or PFM series. Watch your step, either way.
What Else Is Coming With ARMA Reforger 1.5?
As if watching players run around like headless chickens is not enough, ARMA Reforger lead developer Klamacz has been toying with us on Discord as well, but the ARMA WCS mod team has seemingly cracked the code on the new features of patch 1.5.
The group’s Reforger Frog Cracker identified a few new features, though one MD5 hash is still a mystery. On top of the items identified through the teasers, here is what is probably coming with the new update:
- RPG-75, a Czechoslovak single-shot launcher likely to be fielded by FIA units
- New rocket types for the RPG-7
- The ability to disassemble turrets, allowing users to reposition the weapons
- The ability to establish bases anywhere, rather than just around objectives
ARMA Reforger is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It is a standalone game originally developed as a technology demonstrator for ARMA 4, which is set to come out in 2027.
