Hollow Knight: Silksong has a ton of side quests to complete, earning the player various rewards. Most of the quests consist of finding a specific item a certain number of times, and the Rite of the Pollip quest is no different.
The Rite of the Pollip quest in Hollow Knight Silksong tasks players with finding 6 purple Pollip Hearts scattered throughout Shellwood and Bellhart. While they are called “Pollip Hearts” in the game, they are really just purple flowers with a fancy name.
Finding all 6 Pollip Hearts can take a long time, unless you know where to look. Use this guide to learn how to complete the Rite of the Pollip quest in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
How to Start Rite of the Pollip
The Rite of the Pollip quest can be started by speaking to Greyroot in the Shellwood region. Greyroot is located inside a tiny house in the central region of Shellwood. The image attached shows you the exact location of Greyroot in Hollow Knight Silksong.
When you reach the area shown, enter the house and speak to Greyroot. This character will mention the need for Pollip Hearts, which leads her to offer the Rite of the Pollip Wish. Make sure to accept the offer here to get started on the quest.
This quest can’t be completed until players have defeated Sister Splinter and acquired the Cling Grip skill, which allows you to climb up walls.
Pollip Heart Location #1
The first Pollip Heart can be found at the top of the large central area of Shellwood. By using your newly acquired Cling Grip, you’ll be able to climb the walls that lead to the Pollip Heart’s location.
Keep progressing upward, staying on the east side of this room, until you reach a set of spikes on the right wall and flowers on the left wall. Follow the flowers to find the first Pollip Heart.
Pollip Heart Location #2
The second Pollip Heart can be found in the room with a handful of white flowers. These flowers act as platforming puzzles, where if you strike your weapon down on one, it will launch you into the air.
The Pollip Heart is found at the top of this room, so you need to use the white flowers to reach the top and then strike the Pollip Heart to acquire it.
Pollip Heart Location #3
Players can find the next Pollip Heart on the top of the room that leads back to Bellhart. Similar to the first Pollip Heart in this guide, you want to go upward by jumping up walls with the Cling Grip skill. Head to the northeastern section of this area.
Eventually you will reach a wall covered in flowers. Follow these flowers since they lead to the Pollip Heart, which is tucked away in a little corner.
Pollip Heart Location #4
The next Pollip Heart can be found near the location you acquired the Cling Grip. On the western side of the area, there’s a small opening in the wall that you can jump through.
Make sure to dash quickly into the opening, or else you have a chance of missing it and falling to the depths below.
Pollip Heart Location #5
Another Pollip Heart can be found by going north of the Sister Splinter boss arena. Head to the location shown in the image attached, and you’ll eventually encounter a small pond and a purple hornet nest.
Destroying the hornet nest will reveal a hidden passage that leads to the next Pollip Heart.
Pollip Heart Location #6
The final Pollip Heart can only be obtained by going through the entrance to Bellhart, near the Sister Splinter boss arena. This area was previously inaccessible, but now that you have the Cling Grip, you can climb up the wall to enter Bellheart.
Once you enter Bellheart, go downward and head east to find another area of Shellwood. After jumping across the spiked room, you’ll find the last Pollip Heart hidden behind some vines.
Rite of the Pollip Quest Rewards
After finding 6 Pollip Hearts and handing them over to Greyroot in Shellwood, make sure to exhaust her dialogue. Once you do that, she will hand over the Pollip Pouch, which is a Tool that adds venom to any of your combat tools.
In other words, when you have the Pollip Pouch equipped, all of your combat Tools will deal more damage since it’s coated in venom. Keep in mind that the Pollip Pouch is a blue Tool, meaning it’ll take up one of your blue slots on your crest.
