Long-Running ShooterDiscounted With All DLCs, But There’s A Catch

While there’s no shortage of games to be played on PS4 and PS5, the same can’t be said if you want a looter shooter. Sure, Destiny 2 is still around, but what if you want something fresh or perhaps a little more grounded?

There’s one game heavily discounted now on the PlayStation Store as part of its PlayStation Plus-exclusive Weekend Offer sale.

Fantastic deals for some of the best games of all-time.

This game was met with criticism at launch, but over time, the developers have consistently pushed out updates to the point that it’s now in a good place. What’s more, there’s even DLC for it that was released recently and is included in the sale price.

Shooter Released In 2019 Still Has A Healthy Player Base And Even New Premium DLC

The Division 2 Season 11 Adds New Manhunt With Targets

The game I’m referring to is Ubisoft’s The Division 2. Released in 2019, the looter shooter reviewed well enough at release, but didn’t exactly set the gaming world on fire.

After countless seasonal updates, most assumed it would flame out. That’s when the developers surprised everyone by announcing the Warlords of New York premium expansion in 2020. A lot of gamers (including this author) assumed that this would be the game’s swansong, given it wasn’t exactly the most popular game out there.

The developers at Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment continued plugging away at it, and never stopped supporting the game. The result? Its player base stuck around, and just last month in May, the Battle of Brooklyn DLC was released.

Both paid expansions are part of The Division 2 Gold Edition, currently on sale now on the PlayStation Store for a limited time. To take advantage of this offer, you’ll need to be an active PlayStation Plus subscriber, which will reduce the price of the Gold Edition from $59.99 to just $23.99. If you plan to take this up, it’s best to get a move on, as the sale is only active until July 1.

Kojima Says Asian Actors Were ‘Too Beautiful’ To Scan Before Death Stranding 2

Technology is improving to the point where it’s becoming easier now, says Kojima.

The Battle for Brooklyn DLC was released last month, adding new missions and a new map with two new neighborhoods. It was accompanied by the game’s latest title update that added new activities and gear for all players who owned the base game.

While we anticipate this expansion to be the last major premium DLC for the game, Ubisoft has confirmed The Division 3 is in active development, though we haven’t heard anything about it for quite some time. There was a free-to-play game bsed in the franchise titled The Division Heartland that was canceled last year after numerous private playtests.

The Division 2 is another franchise from Ubisoft that stumbled out of the gate, but with continuous developer support, it has managed to regain its footing. Thankfully, The Division 2 didn’t go the way of Ubisoft’s latest shooter, which fizzled out less than a year after it launched.

For now, The Division 2 is definitely worth picking up, as it’s a perfect example of a live service shooter done right. Tell your friends about this sale, and then squad up to take back New York.
