There’s a lot to like about ARC Raiders leading into the game’s release next month, aside from the small snafu over the rumored shadow drop earlier this year during Summer Games Fest.
An open beta is scheduled to take place from October 17th through the 19th, serving as a stress test to ensure the game’s servers are functioning properly on release. It will also give us a chance to get some more hands-on time with the game, something we’ve been waiting for since we enjoyed our time during a preview session.
With the upcoming release, PC gamers have one question on their minds: will their computer be able to run ARC Raiders?
It’s a fair question. Take a look at Battlefield 6’s system requirements: they require you to have, at a minimum, an NVIDIA RTX 2060. Ideally, you’ll have a 3060 Ti, which may still be a little steep for some people these days.
In fact, we couldn’t help but ask the question: Is this too much, especially with Borderlands 4’s steep requirements?
PC hardware requirements have become a touchy topic, as players and developers often struggle to see eye to eye over what recommended hardware is reasonable. Games need to keep up with the times visually, and progressively increasing hardware details are just part of it. However, making a game beautiful does not mean sacrificing optimization.
Thankfully, ARC Raiders is taking a different approach regarding its system requirements.
ARC Raiders Minimum, Recommended Spec Requirements Are Very User Friendly
Rather than taxing everyone’s computer builds, developer Embark Studios has instead opted for a more accessible approach.

Seeing the game recommend something as “low” as an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2070 is, honestly, a breath of fresh air. Far too many games recently are looking to push graphics cards and computer builds to the limits, sometimes leading to poor optimization.
ARC Raiders is, instead, going the route that World of Warcraft focused on back in the day. Will this be the best-looking game on the market? No. Will your potato PC run it? Absolutely, something that the official ARC Raiders X, formerly known as Twitter, account even pokes fun at.
As someone whose PC is still rocking a 3070, but my laptop struggles at times with too many tabs open on my browser, it will be nice to know that my portable potato will be able to run ARC Raiders just fine. Between that and my editor Jaime’s genuine excitement for the game, I guess I have no excuse not to give it a spin for myself.
ARC Raiders will launch on Windows PC, PS5, and Xbox on October 30th.
