Rainbow Six has come a long way over the years, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is no exception. From the 10 original attackers to 38 in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege X, it can be difficult to know which operator to choose from.
Attackers in this competitive shooter are all about breaching, gathering intel, clearing enemy gadgets, and aggressively taking out defenders. Each attacker goes about this role differently, with some heavily focusing on specific aspects and others being more versatile.
All 38 attackers are viable, for the most part, but some are going to be better than others on average.

Finka
Are These Nanobots Caffeinated?
Speed |
Normal (2) |
Armor |
Medium (2) |
Ability |
Heals and temporarily buffs the whole team on activation. |
Finka’s gadget is rather unusual for Siege. At the touch of a button, her entire team is buffed and healed, or revived if needed. This allows you to heal teammates from anywhere on the map, which is incredibly strong.
However, healing and staying alive is more of a role for a defender, and so Finka often gets overlooked. Despite this, she consistently has one of the highest win deltas of the attackers, meaning that healing goes very far. After all, there are no respawns or healing over time, so the rare healing available in the game can be very impactful.
Between her kit, complete with an LMG and grenades, and the buffs she gives herself, Finka is fantastic for playing as an aggressive entry fragger. However, you may want to play a more supportive role to get full use of her healing.

Twitch
Gadget Hunter
Speed |
Normal (2) |
Armor |
Medium (2) |
Ability |
Throws a special drone that can shoot a laser to destroy enemy gadgets. |
Clearing out enemy gadgets to make things safe is a large part of attacking, and no operators are more effective at that than Twitch. Twitch’s drones outright destroy electronic gadgets and can be driven around to all parts of the map safely. The one downside is that Twitch’s drones are targets and may get hunted down before they get to clear much.
Twitch also comes with the powerful but difficult-to-control F2 assault rifle, which can make her extremely deadly in the right hands. However, if the F2 is too difficult to use, the 417 marksman rifle she can use instead is a viable option as well.

Deimos
Duel!
Speed |
Normal (2) |
Armor |
Medium (2) |
Ability |
Releases a helicopter drone that tracks an enemy at the cost of revealing his location to that enemy, and limiting himself to his .44 Vendetta revolver. |
Deimos is a confusing operator at first. His gadget hunts people down but, for whatever reason, reveals his own location to the target. He also can’t have his primary weapon out when his ability is active for whatever reason. Genius design.

Tactical gear or, simply put, Operator ultimates can turn the game in your favor. Only if they’re using it at the right time. Don’t sleep on them.
These downsides may seem extremely strong, but if you’re playing with a well-coordinated team, you can simply tell them where the enemy is. This makes the life of roamers extremely difficult as Deimos can simply sit in safety, and the roamer won’t be able to do much but run back to the bomb site for safety.
Since his secondary is used more often than his primary, it’s a good thing that he can bring the M590A1 shotgun as his primary to use as a tool to breach soft walls as well.

Blitz
Lightning Followed By Thunder
Speed |
Normal (2) |
Armor |
Medium (2) |
Ability |
Creates a blinding flash effect with his shield upon activation. |
How do you fight what you can’t see? Mostly through spraying and panic knifing, but that tends to fail.
Blitz is a shield operator whose goal is to move fast and hit enemies like a freight train, rather than slowly and methodically position themselves like other shield operators. His gadget helps with that, as while he is the fastest shield operator, he still needs to get up close to really be lethal. It’s easy to get close when the enemy can’t see you.
Blitz’s role is whatever you want it to be, being capable of playing a distracting supportive role but truly excelling at picking up kills from isolated enemies.

Maverick
Peek-a-boo!
Speed |
Fast (3) |
Armor |
Light (1) |
Ability |
Uses a blowtorch that can melt through reinforced walls. |
A successful hard breach is one of the quickest ways to swing a match in favor of attackers; however, most hard breachers come with several counters.
Maverick, however, has no real counters for some reason. Unless you count the curiosity to peek your head through the holes you melted and get instantly one-shotted. His tool is the slowest and least effective hard breaching tool, but not having any counters is priceless. He can even be used as a counter to Bandit or Mute rather than a dedicated hard breacher.
Finally, he’s a three-speed operator with a good gun, the M4 assault rifle, making him a viable entry fragger as well. This means he excels in any role and fits into any team composition.

Dokkaebi
Hold On, I’ve Got To Take This
Speed |
Fast (3) |
Armor |
Light (1) |
Ability |
Calls the entire enemy team, making their phones vibrate and create noise. |
Dokkaebi is a stylish, multipurpose operator, but the main purpose is hunting down roamers who are trying to hide. When she calls the enemy team, their phones vibrate, revealing their location to those with good ears. This ruins the strategy of roaming, which relies on taking on enemies by surprise.

Once that first roamer is taken out, she can hack their cell phone and get access to the entire camera network of attackers. However, it doesn’t eliminate enemy access, so both teams must consider taking out the cameras and keeping others. This is a convenient way to locate and destroy Valkyrie’s cameras.
Dokkaebi is a three-speed attacker, however, she doesn’t have an automatic primary. This means she fits more of a supportive role than one of an entry fragger.

Ash
One Woman Army
Speed |
Fast (3) |
Armor |
Light (1) |
Ability |
Uses a launcher to shoot breaching rounds that explode after a short delay. |
Ash has long been the most popular entry fragger and for good reason. As a three-speed operator with a strong assault rifle, the R4-C, she’s perfect for running in and killing defenders before they have time to react.
She also has a multi-purpose gadget that can be used to clear out enemy gadgets, breach soft walls, or even be used as a distraction. The biggest drawback is that the gadget only has two shots.
Of course, as an entry fragger, you don’t even need to use her gadget if you don’t want to. Your goal is to rush in and kill the defenders by any means. This makes her fantastic in Dual Front as well.
3
Buck
Hole Puncher
Speed |
Normal (2) |
Armor |
Medium (2) |
Ability |
Uses an underbarrel shotgun. |
Not all walls can be reinforced, and that’s where the power of soft breaching comes in.
Buck’s underbarrel shotgun can be used to punch holes through walls to create new sightlines away from the bomb sites, or through floors and ceilings closer to the bomb sites. Once you catch the enemy by surprise, all you have to do is take them out before they get you.
Buck’s primary goal is typically to put pressure on enemies from unexpected angles, like from above or below. However, his C8-SFW and stun grenades make him viable as an entry fragger as well, and his gadget comes in handy for making shortcuts through the map.
2
Ace
Ace In The Hole
Speed |
Normal (2) |
Armor |
Medium (2) |
Ability |
Throws a device that can breach reinforced walls and hatches. |
The most versatile hard breacher is, easily, Ace. He can deploy his gadget from a short range, making him much safer to use than Thermite. His primary weapon is better than Hibana’s. Finally, his gadget breaches faster than both Thermite and Hibana’s initially, making it harder to counter.
It does take two of his gadgets to breach reinforced hatches, but if you’re going through hatches, you’re probably not also focused on reinforced walls, so that is barely a drawback.
Ace also has one of the strongest and easiest-to-use assault rifles in the game, the AK-12, making him one of the best operators to unlock early.
1
Blackbeard
I Think I Saw A Ghost
Speed |
Slow (1) |
Armor |
Heavy (3) |
Ability |
Uses a shield and primary weapon simultaneously. |
Blackbeard was once notoriously overpowered, only to be reduced to near-uselessness for years.
However, a rework has turned him into a powerful shield operator. Unlike other shield operators, he isn’t holding a pistol at his side, but his iconic Mk17 CQB. Sure, it’s probably the worst assault rifle in the game, but it’s still an assault rifle. You can use the SR-25 marksman rifle instead if you prefer that.
His shield can breach soft walls, and he can also throw grenades without lowering his shield, which is honestly just broken.
Sure, Blackbeard lowers his shield to shoot, but I think he’s safely back in overpowered status once again. I guess he deserves it after years of neglect.
