Survival in ARC Raiders is largely a matter of how skilled you can become at retrieving the best loot from your rounds topside. Having the means to do that is just as crucial as well, and furthermore, knowing how to maximize those means.
One especially important feature of your inventory is your Safe Pocket space, but increasing that space can be a bit tricky. Here’s how to get more Safe Pocket space in ARC Raiders.
What is a Safe Pocket in ARC Raiders?
Looting is a huge aspect of ARC Raiders’ gameplay, so having plenty of space to handle all the loot you scavenge while topside is especially important. What’s more, however, is the special bit of space apart from your Backpack that’s known as the Safe Pocket (as seen above).
The Safe Pocket functions as a means of emergency recovery for your most important loot, should you happen to run into trouble while topside. If you find yourself picked off by a fellow Raider or by dangerous ARC machinery, you face the unfortunate risk of losing all of your loot and returning to Speranza empty-handed.
However, whatever loot you place in your Safe Pocket is effectively protected from being lost, regardless of the circumstances. Choose what you place in your Safe Pocket wisely, as you normally only have one item slot for it. Prioritize any loot that’s especially rare (such as high-value trinkets), or items you need to complete a specific quest. That way, you don’t have to resort to venturing back topside to recover those items again.
Having only one slot in your Safe Pocket can prove difficult when it comes to deciding what to place in it during a round. However, there’s actually a way to increase your Safe Pocket space if you know where to look.
How to Get More Safe Pockets in ARC Raiders
When it comes to increasing your Safe Pocket space in ARC Raiders, your first thought is that it’s probably done in a similar manner to how you increase your Stash space, which is done directly via the Inventory menu with Coins.
However, in the case of your Safe Pocket, the process is a bit different but still requires a transaction. Pay a visit to the Trader named Lance at the clinic in Speranza. In his usual shop inventory, you’ll find a few different Augments available. The one you want is the Looting MK. 2 Augment.
Along with increased Backpack space, it features one extra Safe Pocket slot for a total of two slots. It’ll cost you 6,000 Coins, and you must have reached Level 7 in order to make the purchase. If you’re not quite there yet, consider some of the best ways to level your Raider up quickly to make more wares available to you.
Furthermore, the Looting MK. 2 Augment is a rare, limited item that Lance will only have on hand periodically, and usually one at a time. If you get your hands on one, use it wisely, as you can lose Augments while topside, just like anything else.
If you’ve built the Gear Bench in your workshop (at the cost of 25 plastic parts and 30 fabric), you can also craft the augments needed to increase Safe Pocket space as well. Remember to experiment with the best custom builds that can increase your odds of survival while topside and help you haul back all the loot you can carry.
