An Evil star is reuniting with the show’s creators for a new series on CBS. Evil originally aired on CBS before moving to streaming on Paramount+. Ahead of a potential season 5, Paramount+ canceled Evil, which was met with a deeply divisive reception.
Those involved with the show and the enthusiastic fan base expressed disappointment about the show’s premature cancellation, and that there was still a great deal left to explore in future seasons that now would not come to fruition.
However, as per Variety, Evil star Mike Colter is now reuniting with creators Robert and Michelle King after signing onto their new CBS show Cupertino. The “David vs. Goliath legal drama” set in Silicon Valley has not been officially greenlit yet by CBS, but it is in development. Check out the official description of Colter’s Cupertino character below:
A lawyer fired by a Silicon Valley start-up intending to cheat him out of his stock options. Refusing to back down, he joins forces with another recently fired attorney to represent those taken advantage of by the tech elite, and help them fight back in a high-stakes battle against the Goliaths controlling Silicon Valley.
What This Means For Cupertino
Even though Cupertino has yet to be officially greenlit, the show has taken a major step forward with Colter signing onto the project. Cupertino is now moving beyond story development and script writing with Colter, who will likely be the face of the show, now attached as the series gains further momentum.
Mike Colter played the Catholic priest and former war journalist David Acosta in Evil.
For those still mourning Evil being canceled after season 4, the reunion between Colter and the Kings is an exciting development. It bodes well for recapturing some of the old magic from their previous collaboration, even though this is a legal drama instead of a supernatural one.
Colter’s history of working with the Evil creators predates the supernatural show, as he played Lemond Bishop in The Good Wife, which was created by the Kings, and played the part again in The Good Fight spinoff. The proven track record between Colter and the Kings now sets up Cupertino for further success.
Our Take On Mike Colter Reuniting With Robert And Michelle King
Cupertino does not make up for Evil ending with season 4 when it should have continued. Short of Evil season 5 or a revival, though, Cupertino is the next best thing, as it will allow Colter and the Kings to collaborate on what will likely be another hit show.
The shift in genre means that Cupertino will inevitably have more in common with The Good Wife and The Good Fight than with Evil, but it has the potential to appeal to fans of all these series. With Colter now aboard, it may not be long before other actors sign on, and CBS officially greenlights the series.

Cupertino could become even more exciting if Colter is only the first of several Evil actors to be a part of it. In particular, I would love to see Katja Herbers or Michael Emerson sharing the screen with Colter again in another show helmed by the Kings.
