Even though Alan Ritchson is interested in playing Batman in James Gunn’s DCU, it is hard not to see how he would perfectly embody the protagonist in Amazon’s next massive game adaptation. Reacher has already given Alan Ritchson a massive spotlight, and the actor will likely grow from strength to strength in the coming years.
Considering his growing fame and demand as a leading action star, it is not surprising that he is eying the role of Batman in James Gunn’s DC superhero universe. While some viewers seem to agree he can pull off the role, others believe he would be better off playing other roles on the big and small screens.
Regardless of what one thinks about Alan Ritchson’s potential to play Batman, he would undoubtedly be an intriguing casting choice for the role. However, a closer look at his past performances and roles in shows like Reacher seems to suggest he would be a better fit for Amazon’s upcoming video game adaptation.
Instead Of Batman, Alan Ritchson Should Be Cast As B.J. Blazkowicz In The Upcoming Wolfenstein TV Adaptation
Alan Ritchson Would Perfectly Embody The American Spy
As reports confirm, a TV adaptation of the Wolfenstein video games is in development at Amazon MGM Studios. Although it is still in its early stages of production and no casting announcements surrounding it have been made, it is hard not to see how Alan Ritchson could perfectly portray its protagonist, B.J. Blazkowicz.
It would be great to see Alan Ritchson as Batman if he ends up landing the part in James Gunn’s DCU. However, considering B.J. Blazkowicz’s imposing stature, fierce personality, and depthless contempt of oppression and injustice, it seems like Ritchson would brilliantly capture him on the small screen after portraying Jack Reacher.
According to the games, Blazkowicz is close to 6 feet 3 inches tall and is extremely muscle-bound. In terms of physicality, Alan Ritchson already seems to tick all the right boxes to play the character. Ritchson’s portrayal of Jack Reacher’s stoicism, military precision, and hardened vulnerability also makes him the ideal casting choice for B.J. Blazkowicz.
Those familiar with the Wolfenstein games would also know how, despite being a serious character, Blazkowicz sometimes has a dry sense of humor. In Prime Video’s Reacher, Alan Ritchson has already shown his ability to deliver sharp, understated one-liners without breaking his character’s stoic intensity. This again makes him perfect for the upcoming video game adaptation.
Everything We Know About Amazon’s Wolfenstein TV Series
It Is Being Produced By The Company Behind Prime Video’s Fallout
When it comes to story details, nothing much seems to be known about Amazon’s Wolfenstein TV show. However, reports (via Variety) confirm that Patrick Somerville, of the Station Eleven, Maniac, and The Leftovers fame, is attached to the project as its creator, writer, executive producer, and showrunner.
A Wolfenstein movie was previously announced in 2012, with Roger Avary attached to write and direct. However, its production never moved forward, and it failed to see the light of the day.
Interestingly, Kilter Films, which is the production company behind Amazon’s hit Fallout adaptation, is also producing the upcoming video game adaptation. Considering these early developments surrounding the series’ production, it already seems to be on the right path towards success. Alan Ritchson‘s casting as B.J. Blazkowicz could make the game adaptation even more exciting.
