Netflix’s Wednesday season 2 part 1 builds up many compelling mysteries that part 2 will have to solve. After an almost three year wait, the Netflix hit show Wednesday has returned, bringing viewers back to the outsider school Nevermore Academy. Luckily, Wednesday season 2 part 1 was worth the wait, providing Wednesday with an exciting new mystery.
Wednesday Addams will have to discover who could cause Enid’s death and stop them before they hurt her. In a surprising twist, Wednesday season 2 part 1 revealed the identity of the Avian. I fully expected that to stretch out into part 2.
However, just because one of the mysteries is solved doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty more to explore in Wednesday season 2 part 2. The show left many mysteries unsolved and big questions unanswered.

Will Wednesday Get Her Psychic Powers Back?
Wednesday Addams spends the summer between seasons 1 and 2 exhausting her psychic powers to the point that she starts crying black tears in Wednesday season 2. Even though Morticia tries to give her guidance on how to grow her abilities slowly, she doesn’t heed the warning of her mother.
Instead, Wednesday abuses her powers for so long that she loses them. When her psychic visions disappear, Wednesday decides that the solution is in Goody’s spellbook. Unfortunately, she loses the blindfolded duel, meaning Morticia burns the book.
Wednesday season 2 part 2 will need to clarify whether the titular teen’s powers are permanently gone or if they can be recovered. While it’s interesting to see Wednesday investigate without her psychic abilities, I’m hoping she can become a psychic again with the help of Morticia or maybe even her aunt Ophelia.

Why Is Barry Dort Acting So Suspiciously?
From the moment Barry Dort appeared onscreen, I suspected that he was evil. Actor Steve Buscemi has played villains or morally gray characters so many times that I immediately questioned the intentions of his Wednesday season 2 character. On top of that, he’s trying way too hard to seem friendly to students.
Wednesday season 2 part 1 furthers suspicions about the character. Dort had zero issues manipulating Bianca into using her siren song by threatening her scholarship, which already makes him terrible. On top of that, the phone call at the end of Wednesday season 2 part 1 was sketchy.
The second half of Wednesday season 2 needs to reveal what’s going on with Barry Dort. We need answers about that strange phone call and why he’s so invested in getting Morticia’s mother to the school. Additionally, the show should clarify his reasons for becoming the principal of Nevermore Academy and explain how he can possibly justify his decision to manipulate Bianca.

Will Slurp The Zombie Become Human Again?
Pugsley’s story in Wednesday season 2 part 1 centered on his new pet zombie, whom he accidentally revived with his electricity. During the first half of the season, Slurp the zombie killed numerous people, eating their brains. The most surprising part is the fact that every kill makes him a little more human than he was before.
His brain is regrowing quickly. He looks less decayed with each kill. By the end of his murder spree at the mental institution, he says his first words. This has led to the theory that Slurp will eventually become a human again if he eats enough brains.
Wednesday season 2 part 2 will need to answer more questions about Slurp, including who he was before his death (outside the myth) and whether he will become that person again in the future.

What Is Slurp’s Connection With Augustus Stonehurst?
Speaking of Slurp’s first words, the zombie attacks multiple people when he is escaping from the mental institution. One of his victims was Augustus Stonehurst. Slurp told Augustus, “Hello, old friend,” before killing him. This implies that Slurp, whoever he was when he was still alive, had a relationship of some sort with Augustus.
If the rumor about the man under the Skull Tree is true, he was a genius inventor. Since Augustus was responsible for the LOIS project, which made his daughter the first Normie-turned-Outsider, it’s plausible that he had the help of a genius insider.
Pre-death Slurp might have conspired with Augustus on LOIS. After all, a scientist willing to make an electric heart might not have any qualms with playing with biology. However, that’s just a theory based on the zombie’s statement that Wednesday season 2 part 2 will need to answer.

What Will Tyler Do Now That He’s Free From Willow Hill Asylum?
Since he didn’t die in Wednesday season 1, it felt like a given that the Hyde would return in season 2. His reintroduction didn’t disappoint. He’s forcibly institutionalized at the mental facility because he’s a danger to others. However, by the end of Wednesday season 2 part 1, he escapes from his shackles, kills Marilyn, and attacks Wednesday.
Because they don’t show him getting recaptured, it looks like he will be free in the second half of the season. As such Wednesday season 2 part 2 needs to answer the question of what Tyler will do now.
He seems to have a vendetta against Wednesday and the other outsiders who defeated him. The Avian and Tyler could both be major threats in the second half of Wednesday season 2.
4
Was Marilyn Really Tyler’s Master?
As mentioned, Tyler killed Marilyn before he escaped the mental institution. This wouldn’t be particularly notable except for the fact that she was meant to be her master. If Marilyn was telling the truth early in Wednesday season 2, a Hyde would experience unspeakable pain and doom themselves if their master is killed.
With that in mind, Wednesday season 2 part 2 needs to clarify whether or not Marilyn was really Tyler’s master. If she were, that raises another question about how he could kill her. If she wasn’t, the show needs to tell us who Tyler’s real master is. The latter opens up so many storytelling possibilities.
3
Is The Woman In Willow Hill Asylum Ophelia Addams?
The rest of the Addams Family plays a much bigger role in Wednesday season 2, and a lot of emphasis is put on Morticia’s relationship with the off-screen character Ophelia Addams. Ophelia is her sister, and she also had psychic visions. According to Morticia, Wednesday’s Grandmama Addams pitted the two sisters against each other.
Eventually, something happened with Ophelia’s psychic abilities that led to her getting institutionalized at the local mental facility. This just so happens to also be the location of Tyler, Marilyn, and the Avian. At the end of Wednesday season 2 part 1, she finds an unidentified woman who was a LOIS test subject.
Given how heavily the season foreshadowed Ophelia Addams, fans immediately started guessing that she was the woman Wednesday helped. If not Ophelia, she could also be Tyler’s mother, who was also committed to Willow Hill. Either way, we need to learn more about the woman in Wednesday season 2 part 2.
2
What Is Gomez Addams’ Outsider Ability?
In Wednesday season 1, they make a big deal about the fact that “normies” don’t go to Nevermore Academy. It’s emphasized repeatedly that Marilyn Thornhill was the first normie who was ever there. We also know Morticia and Gomez met when they went to Nevermore together.
This implies that Gomez also has some sort of ability that would give him the “outsider” label. However, the lightning ability skipped a generation. Wednesday season 2, part 2 needs to reveal what ability Gomez Addams has in Wednesday.
Based on past iterations of the character, he could have the ability to walk on walls or influence the stock markets. He’s always been unrealistically acrobatic, and he succeeds in all his business ventures. If he doesn’t have abilities, they need to explain how he got into Nevermore.

Will Wednesday Save Enid From Her Foreseen Death?
Throughout Wednesday season 2 part 1, the eponymous character spends most of her time trying to prevent the murder of Enid Sinclair. In her vision, she sees Enid’s grave, her best friend blaming her for what happened, and a crow with an injured eye. This pushes Wednesday in the direction of the Avian.
She might have discovered Judi Spannegel’s secret identity, but the fight for Enid’s life is far from over. With Avian and the Tyler on the loose, there’s no doubt that Enid’s life is still in danger going into Wednesday season 2 part 2. Either one of them could be going after her.
