Tom Cruise reunites with Brad Pitt to hype up his new movie, F1. From the director and co-writer of Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick, Joseph Kosinski and Ehren Kruger, the upcoming racing movie stars Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a former Formula One driver who comes out of retirement to mentor and team up with a younger driver for the fictional Apex Grand Prix. The film’s cast also includes Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, Javier Bardem, Shea Whigham, and Sarah Niles.
Now, Cruise reunited with Pitt at the F1 premiere in London. On X, formerly Twitter, Cruise shared a photo of himself and Pitt on the red carpet in front of a Formula One car, followed by another photo of them with Kosinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Cruise captioned the photos, “Great night at the movies with my friends!! You guys crushed it!!” Check out his post below:
The official Formula 1 account also shared a video of the moment that Cruise surprised Pitt on the red carpet. Watch it below:
What Tom Cruise & Brad Pitt’s Reunion Means
Will They Reunite On Screen?
Cruise and Pitt starred together in 1994’s Interview with the Vampire, though they haven’t appeared alongside each other since becoming two of the biggest movie stars in the world. Though it was rumored that the two actors clashed while filming Interview with the Vampire, they were originally lined up to reunite in their own racing movie together, Ford v Ferrari, with Kosinski as the director. However, those plans eventually fell apart and turned into the project starring Christian Bale and Matt Damon with James Mangold as director.

It might be a Formula One promotional movie at its core, but at least it’s a damn good film.
However, the possibility of another Pitt and Cruise collaboration remains open. During a recent interview, Pitt said that he would be open to working with Cruise again, but only if the stunts stay on solid ground. He reflected on their previous collaboration on Interview with the Vampire and admitted that he is not interested in performing extreme stunts like hanging off airplanes, something Cruise has famously done for the Mission: Impossible movies. Read Pitt’s remarks below:
He’s sweet. Yeah, we did have our go-cart days back in the ’90s. Well, I’m not gonna hang my a** off airplane sh*t like that. When he does something again that’s on the ground.

Cruise Continues Supporting The Movies
Cruise appeared on the red carpet with Pitt to promote F1, even though he’s not starring in it, continuing his unwavering commitment to the movie industry and the theatrical experience. While on his press tour for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Cruise was vocal about his support for Ballerina, and in 2023, Cruise was a vocal supporter of Barbemheimer, even when Dead Reckoning was still playing in theaters. Cruise cares about the industry, and he continues to show up to champion the work of his peers.
