Knives Out 3 Newcomer Reveals What It’s Like Joining Star-Studded Franchise

The Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery star talks about joining the Daniel Craig-led franchise in the third movie. Coming to theaters in November and Netflix’s streaming platform on December 12, the movie marks the third entry in Rian Johnson’s Knives Out series.

With each installment in the franchise tackling a self-contained new murder mystery, each also features an entirely new cast to play the fresh group of suspects. In the past, the franchise has famously included Hollywood A-listers such as Edward Norton, Dave Bautista, Ethan Hawke, Hugh Grant, Jackie Hoffman, Ana de Armas, and Chris Evans.

Centering around a new mystery, Wake Up Dead Man has a new ensemble cast, featuring Josh O’Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, Jeremy Renner, and many more. The James Bond actor is the only returning cast member to reprise his role as private investigator, Benoit Blanc.

In an interview with ScreenRant at the Toronto International Film Festival, Twisters star Daryl McCormack opened up about his experience joining the Knives Out universe. He touched on how each film had its “unique take and touch” and the impact of working with “massive A-listers” at the early stage of his career. Check out his comment below:

I think, you know, the kind of aura that his been set up with these casts that come in every film and knowing that each film has its kind of unique take and touch. But really, like, at the early part of my career, to be surrounded by these massive A-listers. I think, I was like really grateful and glad that Rian [Johnson] would invite me in and trust me to play my part.

Even though the movie had some of the biggest names in the industry, McCormack described the filming experience as “summer camp,” where he has made many fond memories. Read his comment below:

Set life was so easy. I think it’s been said quite a bit of the last day that it’s amazing to see these amazing big actors and yet yet this environment, set feels like–I think Mils Kunis said–it’s like summer camp. It feels like summer camp.

There’s the byproduct that we’re making a movie together, but some of my fondest memories have been just hanging out in the green room.

I think even Josh Brolin, Glenn Close, who have been working for a long time, even they said like there’s something special about our time together on this.
